Could you eat nothing but grilled fish and steamed vegetables every day for the rest of your life? If you did, you’d be following the exact Victoria Beckham diet.
VB’s husband David Beckham (you may have heard of him?) shared on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast that he’s rarely seen his wife eat anything else since he met her 25 years ago.
“She only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables; she will very rarely deviate from that,” he said in the episode, which aired on 1 February.
“The only time she’s probably ever shared something that’s been on my plate was actually when she was pregnant with Harper, and it was the most amazing thing… It was one of my favourite evenings. I can’t remember what it was but I know she’s not eaten it since!”
Victoria speaks about her diet
Think it sounds a little far-fetched? Victoria shared the same sentiments on the very same podcast just a few months earlier.
In her interview, she admitted to being a very fussy eater. “I like things to be cooked in a very simple way. I don’t like oils or butters or sauces,” she told host and chef Ruth Rogers.
“To most restaurants, I’m probably their worst nightmare. I love some steamed vegetables, some balsamic vinegar, and then to season myself.”
The former Spice Girl also shared that she hasn’t eaten red meat since childhood. And as for the ‘comfort food’ of choice in the Victoria Beckham diet? Salt on toast.
“I like whole grain toast with salt on it. It’s that carbohydrate that makes you feel comforted and I love salt,” she explained, adding that she’s also a savoury as opposed to a sweet person.
And really, can you lean any more towards savoury when your favourite food is salt?
Previously, it’s also been reported that Victoria is a fan of the Alkaline diet. It’s based on consuming 70 per cent alkaline foods and 30 per cent acidic foods, to help the body reach its ‘optimal pH balance’.
