The beautiful and brave Talia Castellano has passed away after a seven-year battle with cancer. The inspiring thirteen-year-old was a talented YouTube beauty guru, who gained a strong following for her amazing make-up tutorials and heartfelt videos. On July 16, Talia’s family posted on the ‘Angels for Talia’ Facebook page:
“It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you that Talia has earned her wings at 11:22am. Please lift her beautiful soul, her beautiful light to heaven and please send your love and prayers to her family during this most difficult time.”
Talia was made an honorary COVERGIRL after appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres show. In one of her YouTube videos Talia talked about her illness and her love for beauty saying:
“Having cancer has been a gift yet a horrible, horrible, terrifying thing. But I’ve gotten so many benefits from it…Having a YouTube channel and having to inspire people, and having people look up to me and explaining to you guys how I love and adore makeup, using it as my wig and having so much self-confidence to go out to the grocery store without a wig… it’s just amazing.”
Talia suffered from neuroblastoma, a nerve cancer that is most common in infancy. It warms our hearts to know that make-up and beauty played such a big part in her tragically short life. Our hearts go out to her family and friends at this time.
