5 ways to avoid germs this winter

Getting sick is no fun and germs tend to follow us around all the time, especially in winter. Here are some tips on how you can try to avoid nasty germs and infections this winter.

#1: Wash your hands frequently

Make sure to wash your hands after going to the bathroom and before handling food to help stop the germs from spreading. It’s also a good time to remember to stop touching your face unnecessarily.

#2: Use antibacterial products

Use antibacterial sprays and gels to disinfect your home, work desk and your hands to stop the germs (and those of your co-workers) from spreading and living around you. Make sure to always disinfect things like toilet flush buttons, light switches, door handles and rubbish bins.

#3: Avoid public transport

Germs, flu, sneezing, coughing… it’s all part of public transport in winter so if you can avoid it, please do! Walking is good for your fitness and fresh air is better for fighting the cold and flu. If you must use public transport, make sure to use antibacterial products afterwards and load up on vitamins.

#4: Put your tissues into a bin

There’s no point in spraying everything with antibacterial spray and then leaving your used tissues containing the germs on your desk! Throw away tissues after every wipe and sneeze, and wash your hands too.

#5: If you aren’t well, go home

Don’t stay at work and spread your germs to the rest of the office. You might get better, but someone else will get sick and the spreading of germs will go around and around. Sharing is caring, but not always!

What are your tips for avoiding germs in winter? It’s probably very hard to avoid them all together, but let’s give it our best shot this winter and hopefully enjoy a germ and flu-free season!
