Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson in the hit series GLEE, has been found dead in his Vancouver hotel room. It is thought he passed away due to an overdose. The actor, age 31, has struggled with a substance addiction since age 19 but reportedly had it under control.
Monteith was rumored to be dating GLEE co-star Lea Michele since mid last-year. She is yet to make a comment on Monteith’s death.
News.com.au reports that Monteith entered rehab for the first time at age 19 and two years ago broke his silence in a bid to help others sharing his struggle.
“I don’t want kids to think it’s okay to drop out of school and get high, and they’ll be famous actors, too,” he said in 2011.
“But for those people who might give up: Get real about what you want and go after it.”
