Body discomforts that drive you to distraction

There’s nothing worse than a niggling body discomfort down below. You know, the type that isn’t necessarily painful, but is still annoying enough to be on your mind, distracting you from your everyday life. And the thing about these niggling discomforts is that we often push aside finding a solution because of the fact that they’re not physically painful – which just makes them even more annoying because then they’re ALWAYS THERE. But enough is enough, beauties. Why put up with discomfort when you really don’t need to? Here, we show you just how simple it is to diminish your discomfort down below…

BODY DISCOMFORT #1: VAGINAL DISCHARGE

Vaginal discharge is a mucous secretion that’s often clear or milky white, or sometimes slightly brown in colour just after your period. It’s the vagina’s way of keeping itself clean and healthy and is a normal part of being a woman. While some women only experience vaginal discharge during certain points of their cycle, others can experience it on a daily basis – and although this is also completely normal, it doesn’t mean it’s not downright annoying! That constant feeling of being ‘not quite fresh’, of worrying about wetness in your underwear, or stressing about subsequent odour…it can prove to be a real distraction when you’re going about your daily life, during exercise, or when you want to get intimate (and that’s definitely a time when you don’t want to be distracted!) Luckily there’s a really simple solution to this problem: Carefree Acti-Fresh Liners. You see, these little gems are not only super slim (seriously, you won’t even know you’re wearing one), but they’ve also been designed with an ultra-absorbent core to lock away wetness and odour so that you can feel fresh and dry all day, every day. Which ultimately means less distraction over discomfort and more time to focus on the things that really matter. Problem solved!

BODY DISCOMFORT #2: INGROWN HAIRS

Your bikini line is prime real estate for those annoying things we like to call ingrown hairs – when hairs become trapped in the follicle or can’t penetrate a build-up of dead skin cells and so are forced to grow inwards under your skin. This can often lead to irritation, red bumps, or pus-filled spots, which – due to their unsightly appearance – can be a big cause of concern for women if they want to head to the beach or get intimate with their partner. Plus, there’s also that general feeling of discomfort whenever an ingrown hair rubs against your underwear or swimsuit, which can be mighty distracting, too. So what’s the solution? Again, it’s really easy: start by gently exfoliating your skin on a regular basis (yes, even your bikini area!) and already you’ll be helping your hairs break free from the follicles by eliminating dead skin cells. Using a treatment product specifically formulated to draw out ingrown hairs is also a great idea. Try: Caron Laboratories Bump eRaiser Medi Paste as it contains a hard-working mix of ingredients to help soothe and eliminate existing ingrown hairs, as well as help treat  infection.

BODY DISCOMFORT #3: ITCHING

As much as men tend to ignore this mantra, scratching your crotch in public is just not socially acceptable, so itchiness in the pubic area is not only majorly uncomfortable, but it’s something that can drive you near crazy, never mind to distraction! While there are many causes of an itchy crotch, for women who regularly remove hair from the area, alleviating the issue can be as simple as 1.) using the right prep products (you’d be surprised at how quickly your itching issues disappear when you don’t dry shave!), 2.) applying a nourishing and soothing post-hair removal cream afterwards, or 3.) switching to hair removal products with a sensitive skin formulation (try: Julienne Wax for Sensitive Areas). It’s also a good idea to avoid tight fitting synthetic underwear and opt for light, cotton underwear instead. If however your itching also presents with a rash, bumps and/or sores, or persists no matter what you seem to do, it’s best to consult your medical practitioner.
