BlogStar entry: life’s little wants

Competition: beautyheaven’s BlogStar promotion

Throughout your life there will always be something that you want or desire and somehow you will desperately seek to convince not only yourself but also those closest to you that it’s simply essential you have that object of desire. For us ladies however, the wants and desires we seek often centre upon reaching the image of perfection. I for one have come to realise that achieving perfection is impossible, yet somehow I still can’t help but get excited when I hear a brand I love is bringing out a new line of cosmetics or skincare that promises to offer even more luminous, more matte, or more amazing results than ever before. The countless products I have sought on my quest to bettering my appearance would most probably cause a mental depressive episode for the average person if they were to calculate the expenses incurred as a result of my ‘little wants’ throughout my short life so far.
Now, I’m not suggesting that I want to give up the task taking care of my appearance by any means. Oh no, no, no! I cringe at the thought of morphing into a cave woman, who has yet to meet the invention of a razor or even contemplate the results said woman would achieve by simply washing and tidying that massive mop of hair. However, I often wonder where this need comes from to look my best and why I feel the compulsion to assess other members of the female variety and mentally will them to please look into a mirror before leaving the house!!!! ”¨
Wanting to age gracefully is definitely at the top of my list when it comes to taking care of myself but how many products do I truly need to achieve this throughout my lifetime?… We all know that sunscreen is definite priority on our list of little wants, as too would be a nice moisturiser, then of course we need to exfoliate and cleanse and then there’s a mask, body moisturiser, shampoo and conditioner, and these are simply just the bare basics for keeping clean!

So how do we find the product that truly suits our needs and wants? Is there a cheaper product, a more eco-friendly and natural product that we can use? The questions are endless, and yet we still manage to find our way through the products and the hype and band together in order to put off the insanity that doing this job solo would almost certainly produce.
In an act of solidarity here’s a pick of five simple and effective products that will definitely be included on your list of life’s little wants and also help prolong the onset of insanity!
Dove Body Silk- For skin so soft you won’t be able to stop rubbing yourself (accidentally of course) against those closest to you in hopes of conjuring a well-deserved compliment.
Natio Wellness Body Scrub- An essential for every woman to help scrub away horrible days and hello to a wonderfully fragranced and glowing body to rival a supermodel.
A’kin Lavender, Geranium & Jojoba Hand, Nail & Cuticle- Every lady with a beauty IQ knows that hands need to be well cared for and this hand cream will do the work for you without unwanted greasiness and giving you a clean conscience thanks to the all natural selection of ingredients.
Covergirl Outlast Lipstain- For lips so pretty they’re simply begging to be kissed! Pucker up!
Elizabeth Arden Peal and Reveal Revitalizing Treatment- A weekly must and treatment fit for a goddess. Made from cabernet (ooh la la), this glorified grape seed gel will peel away unwanted dullness and reveal a face so fresh and radiant you will thank the universe for simply compelling you to purchase it.
