BlogStar entry: let yourself glow – profiling High Beam by Benefit

Competition: beautyheaven’s BlogStar promotion

Ever woken up looking tired and pale, needing a boost to your makeup so no one at work will know you had a big night? Ever looked for a product to give makeup that extra glow?  Do you think a good beauty product should have more than one function? Introducing High Beam by Benefit, this product not only delivers as a complexion enhancer but truly multitasks.

I discovered High Beam walking past the Benefit counter in Myer, the product is a pale pink liquid sold in what looks like a nail polish bottle.  High Beam is designed to enhance your complexion by blending into you cheek and brow bones over makeup to give you a fresh and brighter glow. The magical thing about this product is that the pigments in it blend well with any skin tone.

When I started experimenting with High Beam at home I soon realised it didn’t just give my makeup a serious boost in everyday use but was a makeup kit essential for the following:

Big Night Out- Apply under eye colour to give a sexy shimmer. Also helps eye colours adhere and last longer. A few dots blended on your décolletage are also a nice touch.

The Morning After- Dot product under eye area over makeup and blend. Eyes will look brighter and more awake. If you need this most mornings also check out Ooh La Lift by Benefit .

Forgotten the Blusher- Blend into cheek bones over makeup, although not as dark as blush, high beam blends well to give your checks a shimmery glow.

Out of Time- Just blend a few dots into cheekbones and around eye area if you don’t have time to apply your usual makeup to give a subtle glow.

High Beam retails for around $54, reasonable given you only need a few drops for each application. You can purchase High Beam on its own or in a smaller version as part of the Mini Fake it Kit by Benefit. Once you try High Beam it’s hard to turn back, especially when you start getting compliments on your fresh dewy complexion after a big night.
