BlogStar entry: bikini ready body

Competition: beautyheaven’s BlogStar promotionI realised two weeks ago as Adelaide was about to be hit by a heat wave that I was no where near bikini ready. I think summer sneaks up on us. One minute we are hiding under big coats and pants, the next minute, our skirts are getting shorter and it’s too hot to be wearing stockings to hide our cellulite.
So when commence panic diets, swearing “I will not touch chocolate until I’ve lost 5 kilos” and “I will exercise for an hour a day”.
But if you are anything like me, those promises are short lived.
So a week ago I looked in the mirror and realised I would be hiding under shorts and t-shirts at the beach this year unless I found a miracle instant weight loss.
And then I did.
Now I know you are all reading this, thinking skeptically that there is no miracle weight lose and while it won’t work for everyone, but it did work for me and I thought I would share.
I did the basic weight loss tricks, drinking water and completely cutting any other drinks, coffee excluded (by the way, you do not lose weight for 2 days after you drink an energy drink so try to lay off the redbulls!!), eating smaller, vegetable based meals and of course cutting out my frequent snacking.

And  I started doing yoga. Within a week I saw results. My waist became visible again, my thighs were toning up and my stomach (and my breast unfortunately) were shrinking before my eyes.
To be truthful I loath any form of exercise, I’m not a very fit person and I don’t look good in work out clothes but yoga starts off slow, until your body is ready for it to intensify. It stretches you out, works muscles you’ve forgotten you had because you haven’t used them since you were 10 and wanted to be a ballerina and you can do it hidden away in your house.
It’s the perfect solution for those of you who have no time because 30 minutes a day still works, it doesn’t wear you out, in fact I do mine in the early morning and it energises me.

Some people do yoga for spiritual reason, but I love it for the results. My short skirts no longer seem daunting, my arms are getting a little bit of muscle (enough to scare my partner into putting his undies in the clothes basket), and my stomach is getting flatter.
So now I’m doing 30 minutes of yoga a day, drinking plenty of water, lots of salads and fresh fruit and I’m feeling fantastic.
I understand how hard it is to lose weight and nothing has really worked for me but yoga did and no one is paying me to say it on an infomercial so you can almost believe me!
