6 nail polish storage ideas to copy

Raise your hand if you’re a nail polish hoarder!
When it comes to nail polish it can be so easy for our collections to get out of hand. We need to be prepared with a colour to match each season, every occasion, and any mood! But while we love having an overflowing nail polish collection, we hate how annoying they can be to store.
From shelving units to zip up totes, we’ve tried it all when it come to nail polish storage!
Here are our top six nail polish storage options to help you organise your favourite shades.

Spice rack

Spice rack or nail polish holder? It’s up to you! Look for a spice rack with a gap in the design so you can see the colours of your polish bottles. Or simply swatch a bit of polish on a removable sticker and pop it above each bottle to make your decision quicker and easier.
Magnetic whiteboard
This one requires a little bit of craft, but the results are worth it. All you need is a whiteboard and some small magnets. Glue the magnets on the back of each bottle and you’re done! The result? Every shade is easy to see and it’s just a matter of plucking your polish of choice from the board!
Suitcase

Some of us have enough polishes to fill a suitcase, so why not do just that? Suitcases come in all different sizes and you can use dividers to keep your nail colours upright. Simply pop a dot of polish on the top of each lid so you can pick a shade without having to lift a dozen of them out. For black lids, place a white sticker on top before swatching the colour. This is the perfect option for those who prefer to keep their polish collection tucked away in storage.
Shelving

Alternatively, if you want to put your impressive collection on display, try using a few shelves. Stack the shelves close together so there's just enough room for the height of each bottle. And if you want to make it more visually appealing, organise your collection by colour and add a pretty border to make it look like a piece of art!
Candle jars

Don’t let your pretty candle holders go to waste once the wax runs out. Clean them out and use them to house your nail polish! For extra organisation points, group similar shades together and keep each ‘family’ in separate jars for easy sorting.
Tier cake stand

Do you like the idea of a storage solution that doubles up as a decorative piece? Placing your polish bottles onto a tiered cake stand is the answer. If you have a sideboard or bathroom bench in need of some colour, this stand is a practical and colourful way to fill the space.
How do you store your nail polish? Which of the above solutions do you like the most?

It would be so nice to have a bunch of the same brand nail polish so the packaging is all the same and matching beautifully, too bad I have a million different size and shape bottles instead. I just chuck mine all in a basket from Kmart. Would be very nice to have a nice display for it though, my inner OCD approves.

I did a massive clearout the other day and threw out about 25 polishes (and then bought another 12 new ones, whoops).
Some of these suggestions look great! I however don't buy from just the one brand so I don't think I could get my collection to look quite this neat.

I just throw my 10 nail polishes in the bathroom drawer. Some of those displays would look great when you do have lots though.

I don't have a large collection. I have about 6 and they are still in their original cardboard boxes

These storage ideas work best if you have nail polish all from the one brand with similar shaped bottles. My collection covers several brands and they all have different shaped and sized bottles which isnt so easy to have looking so wonderful on display as if they were all the same size and shape.

wow... that's inspiring. So you just don't use nailpaints at all or always go to salon for it? (Just curious ;)

I don't use nail polish. It looks nice but I don't like the feel of it on my nails. I prefer just to give my nails a good buff and polish
