How to create a trendy French manicure

New and funky ways to wear the classic French manicure have been popping up on runways all over the world. So we enlisted the help of nail art aficionado, Mitra Burns, (Instagram @mitty_burns) to show us how to create a trendy one for ourselves.

What you’ll need:

1 x nude nail polish (like Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Totem-ly Yours)

1 x white nail polish (like Revlon Colorstay™ Gel Envy™ in Sure Thing)

1 x silver nail polish (like OPI Nail Polish in Radiance)

1 x nail art brush (like the Mitty Stripy Nail Art Brush)

1 x angled nail art brush (like the Mitty Angle Me Nail Art Brush)

Baking paper

Step 1. Paint your base using your nude polish and wait until it’s completely dry.

Step 2. Dispense a few drops of white polish onto your baking paper. Then using a thin nail art brush, create a half moon that traces the inside of your cuticle. The easiest way to do this is by starting in the middle of your nail, working your way out to each side. Don’t worry if you accidentally get polish on your cuticles, this can easily be cleaned up later.

Step 3. Add a few drops of silver polish onto your baking paper. Then using a clean nail art brush, start at the middle of the tip of your nail and stroke down diagonally towards the left edge. Repeat the same on the right side.

Step 4. Use the Mitty Angle Me Brush and an acetone-free nail polish remover (like Manicare Nail Polish Remover – Non-Acetone) to clean around your nails. The fine hairs of the brush allow you to remove all the excess polish without ruining your design.

Do you like this trendy version of the French mani? If you were to try it, what colours would you use?
