Kim Kardashian and Queen Elizabeth II have this beauty buy in common

I don’t know what’s more surprising: the fact that Queen Elizabeth II and Kim Kardashian have something in common, or that either of them purchase anything from the same drugstore beauty brands that us mere mortals do.

That’s right. The Queen of England and the Queen of Selfies both swear by the same brand of nail polish. If you’re not familiar with essie, you may want to get acquainted! If you pop into a Priceline, you can pick up one of their polishes for about $15.

According to the essie website, Queen Elizabeth’s hairdresser wrote a letter to Essie Weingarten (founder of essie) in 1989 requesting a polish. It was the classic, pale pink shade Ballet Slippers which was “the only color Her Majesty would wear”.

Queen Elizabeth isn’t the only royal to wear the polish. Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton wore essie nail polish for her wedding day in 2011.
And as for Kim, if you do regularly keep up with the Kardashians, you may have noticed that Kim is often sporting nude nail polish. Earlier this month, The Zoe Report revealed that the sandy biege colour was essie’s Sand Tropez.

If you enjoy nail polish like these two queens, bh also loves: ulta3 Nail Polish, MUD Nail Polish, COLOUR by TBN Nail Polish and essence the gel nail polish.
What do you think of these nail colours? What is your go-to shade of polish?

Brand, not colour. Polar opposites those two though. However, I am not going to get into why.

That is a beautiful colour, but it isn't pigmented enough for my liking.

I have never used Essie. The colours here are pretty but I have not used nail polish in well over a year!

Oh! Might have to get back into painting my nails again. Ballet Slippers looks lovely but I do love a bit of bright coral or pinks for summer :)

I prefer neutral shades for the cooler months and brighter shades for summer.

I do not like Sand Tropez, but I do not like anything with a grey colour - whether it is clothing, wall paint colours, furnishings etc. The exception to this is grey or silver eyeshadow. Ballet Slippers looks lovely to me.

Haha, that is both cute and ludicrous at the same time! A lovely shade of pink nevertheless.

Both colours look like amazing spring colours, might have to pop into my local Priceline and pick them up! :)

They are good spring choices, skye_nicole_! They go with everything, too!

Meh....do not have preference. When wearing polish I want it to pop. When not, then nothing....why bother to paint

The shade "Ballet Slippers" is very dainty and pretty. There's a nice gloss to it too. It's quite different from other shades of pastel pink I've seen. I don't really have a "go-to" shade of nail polish as I love them all !!!
