The secret to ageless hands

Many – if not most – of us ladies spend a good amount of time, effort and money to look younger than we actually are. Our faces are well looked after, but more often than not, we don’t give our hands as much attention. Hands are the biggest indicator of age, and deserve just as much TLC, Here’s how to get younger-looking, smoother and wrinkle-free mitts…
INSTANT FIX
For visibly smoother, younger-looking hands, mix a pea-sized amount of liquid foundation with your favourite hand cream. Rub over the top of your hands and into your wrists for even coverage. Age spots, fine lines and uneven skin tone, be gone!
EXFOLIATE
Treat your hands to a luxurious scrub twice a week. This will remove dead skin cells, allow products to absorb better, and keep your hands looking young. Give Sea Siren Cosmetics Sealicious Hand & Foot Scrub a go – its minty-fresh scent leaves hands feeling invigorated!
HAND CREAM
Beauties, make using hand cream a habit – it’s one of the most effective ways to ensure your hands don’t give away your age. Keep a tube beside your bed and one in your handbag so you’re always prepared. We recommend Natio Wellness Hand Cream SPF 15 as it is blended with sunscreen to protect hands from the sun’s harmful rays.
MASSAGE
Just in case you needed an excuse, a hand massage fights against the signs of ageing. Along with feeling ah-mazing, it increases blood flow and works to tighten sagging skin. Treat yourself to a hand massage once a week with the help of a teaspoon of olive oil. Use small circular movements and work your way across your palm and down each finger. Oh, and the benefits increase tenfold if you get your significant other to do the work for you.*
*Not really, but we give you permission to tell him it does.
TREATMENT
Dark spots (also known as age spots) on the hands basically broadcast your age. If you suffer from these, dab on Spotner Agespot Corrector Pen to reduce their size and appearance. Used twice daily, the treatment helps to accelerate skin cell regeneration and leaves hands smooth, supple and even.

I put lemon juice on the back of my hands as I recall this tip from Dr Oz to keep your hands from developing age spots. I drink the juice from half a lemon mixed with warm water upon rising and then rub the old lemon half on my hands or use a bit of the lemon juice before adding the water - you only need a few drops. I'm sure it helps.

My absolute favourite handcream is the Jurlique anti ageing one. It's expensive, like $55 for the tube, but it's worth every single cent.

I use Natural Instinct Hand cream everyday and use a cuticle cream but that's about it.

I have my first age spot on my hand so I am now making more of a effort to use hand cream. I hope this with exfoliation will prevent any future ugly spots.

I have really old hands, even though I am not that old, wish I was told to look after my skin when I was younger

I'm constantly washing my hands but I hate the feeling of greasy hand cream. Keeping a tube by my desk and just forcing myself to put it on several times a day is helping my chapped hands

I need to start using a spot corrector as age spots are making their appearance to my dismay

For many years I never really took care of my hands except for moisturising. I am trying to make up for it now by using SPF and exfoliating.

I use a hand cream every night. And also before leaving for work in the morning so I don't wash it off immediately.

I always forget abouts my hands, my nails get lots of attention. I have started moisturising them recently however as I find they can get a bit dry in winter.

I love hand creams especially the LOccitane ones ame I also use a cuticle gel occasionally. But the BEST thing I do for my hands is rub petroleum jelly all over them and then pop some cotton gloves on and go to sleep- my hands always feel amazing the next day and it works for feet as well!

I would never have thought to put foundation on my hands. I'm constantly washing my hands; kind of defeats the purpose.

I've begun to see a bit of aging on the backs of my hands sadly, so if I know I'm going to be out in the sun for a while then I'll put sunscreen on. Other than that, I wear lots of hand cream & cuticle oil to keep them moisturised.

I have been using Skin Doctors Younger Hands both morning and night. It is quite good for evening out the texture of my hands. It's quite expensive though, so I keep a cheaper hand cream around to use during the day (after I wash my hands and stuff).

I really don’t look after my hands properly (other than scads of hand cream). I can’t see myself using foundation on them (!) but exfoliation is a great idea.

A lot of people always ask me why my hands look so soft and smooth. Honestly.......I put it down to washing up with dishwashing liquid and have done it for years.
Great article above though and certainly will be adding a few of those touches also.
