The handy beauty tools missing from your kit

There are a few beauty tools we all tend to have on hand – a lash curler is an everyday essential, and it’s best to keep a good pair of tweezers nearby to avoid looking like a Frida Kahlo impersonator.

But when blackheads need to be extracted and heels need to be softened, what do you turn to? We have a few suggestions.

Here are the beauty tools your beauty kits might be missing – you’ll soon wonder how you ever lived without them.

The fuzz fighter

MCoBeauty Super Smooth Facial & Brow Razor

Not ready to take the dermaplaning dive, and so looking for a cheaper alternative? This razor’s curved handle and petite blade makes comfortably removing unwanted facial hair and peach fuzz a breeze.

The shine-fighting sponge

UBU Shine A Go Go’s – Mattifying Sponge Trio

If you’re struggling to control shine with topicals, it might be time to call in a tool. These latex-free sponges are made with micro-oil absorbing properties to help you mop up and mattify on the go.

The blackhead buster

QVS Blackhead Remover

Blackheads, blocked pores, pimples – a list of both our least favourite things and the skin issues that can be solved with this dual-ended precision tool. Place the loop over the blemish and press gently; if the blockage or blackhead doesn’t emerge, use the sharp end to gently scrape skin away from the blemish, then repeat the loop process again.

The tress timesaver

bhave Vent Brush

Looking to blast through your blowdry real fast? Swap your regular hair brush for this one – the gaps in the paddle allow airflow from your dryer to hit larger sections of hair while you style, so it’ll save you some serious drying time.

The heel helper

Scholl Hard Skin Foot File

Is it the most glamorous beauty tool? No. Will you be displaying it on your vanity? Absolutely not. But will it take your feet from rough and dry to downright silky? 100 per cent. Use the coarse side on hard skin (we’re looking at you, heels) and the finer side to get softer skin feeling extra smooth.

The compact cleansing tool

LUMISKIN™ Hana Compact Sonic Beauty Device

You’ve probably got a cleansing brush stowed in your shower for everyday use, but what about when you’re on the go? This travel-friendly tool is compact enough to take on any outing (from an overseas vacation to a trip to the gym) – wherever you’re showering, that’s where it’ll be.

The cuticle controller

Manicare Cuticle Trimmer and Pusher

This two-in-one cuticle-tidying tool will make at-home manicures a lot easier – one end pushes back cuticles while the other can be used to trim pesky hangnails.

The skin softener

Panasonic Ionic Toning Device

Our skin could always do with some extra cleansing, toning and softening action, and this unique device uses the power of ionic energy to deliver just that. Well, would you look at that – you just became your own facialist.

  1. IndieAna – me too, hate being without tweezers. Usually forget to take them when I go away and if I suddenly have the need then I have to go buy some. Latest ones were a souvenir of Tokyo when I forgot to take them!

  2. I have an eyelash curler but rarely use it. Tweezers are a must. I've never used a blackhead remover but it sounds easy. I do have some bumps on my forehead but they arent blackheads.

  3. I don’t have any of these ! I do too use the tweezers the most . I have a paddle brush .. that’s about it for tools haha oh .. my eye brow shaper is something I use lots too
