3 is a trend: feminine deep side-parted waves

We’ve already discussed the importance of only declaring something a trend when it’s been spotted three times. (Remember those stylish low-slung ponytails?) It’s a beauty industry rule and one we’re most certainly sticking to.
That’s why we can officially confirm glamorous, old Hollywood-style brushed-out waves as one of the hairstyles of the season. Oh, but they must feature a deep side-part, and it’s suggested there must be some tucking-the-hair-behind-the-ear action involved, too.
Just ask Rachel Weisz, Jessica Chastain and Jaime King. These three ladies sported said sophisticated, ladylike hairstyle on three different occasions, and the result was undeniably glamorous.
The ever youthful Ms Weisz paired her sheer black polka dot dress with feminine waves at the Golden Globes; the strikingly beautiful Ms Chastain used an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman to show off her glorious strawberry blonde locks, which were curled and brushed-out to perfection; and Ms King, the lady with the perfect pins, was an absolute standout at the Critic’s Choice Awards thanks to her shiny curls.
Now, this hairstyle is nothing new. In fact, it’s possibly one of the most popular styles in hair history. However, this doesn’t take away from its on-trend status. We’ve seen a mix of intricate and structured ‘dos ruling the red carpet of late (read: boho braids at the People’s Choice Awards and this sharp, slick ‘do) so it’s delightful to witness an utterly feminine and truly timeless style back in the headlines.
Do you want to look at glamorous and stylish as these three ladies? Who are we kidding – of course you do. Just be sure to arm yourself with a curl-enhancing mousse for long-lasting hold (we love Clairol Professional Curls In Curl Mousse), a tail comb to help create that deep side-part (try ghd Tail Comb), a wide barrel curling iron to get those enviable big waves (we love Jilbère de Paris Euro 2500 25mm Ceramic Curler), a paddle brush for brushing out the curls once they’ve cooled to create that old Hollywood glamour finish (try Avon Paddle Brush), and a strong-hold hairspray to keep your hard work in place.
Oh, and another note: this is not the last you’ll see of this hairstyle in the coming months. We’ve already spotted it again on the divine Emmy Rossum, and I have no doubt it will show its pretty, shiny face at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the all-important Acadamy Awards, too.
What do you think of this old Hollywood glamour hair trend? Which celebrity pulls it off best? Is this a style you’d wear yourself? Or is it too ladylike?

It's a very elegant look but you do need certain hair to pull it off.

I love the look, but i wouldnt do it myself because i hate using any product on my hair other than heat protector and some kind of oil for the ends of my hair. And when ever i try a deep side part my hair just ends up falling over my face and i cant see !

Love this old-style Hollywood glamour look - recently saw Miranda Kerr in this style and she looked stunning (always does!) and perfect in this era.

I have to say that this is the type of look that i think suits anyone who has long hair...I would do it to my own hair but i would have to go to a salon to do it as i cant do it on myself. But i think they all look lovely its a very feminine look and style

I do like the feminine side sweep, it is very Hollywood. I would wear my hair to the side but have a more relaxed style. SandraXxX
