CANDY APPLE
Red lipstick is an undeniable classic, but never before have we seen such a unanimous vote on the shade. The colour to know: Snow White apple red – as true as it gets. As seen at Zac Posen, Giles Deacon and Dolce & Gabbana, the hue looks positively delectable, and should be applied with absolute precision.

VAMPIRE LIPS
Synonymous with all things winter – dark, moody lips are making an unexpected (and surprisingly, refreshing) appearance in our warmer weather wardrobes. Seen on the Myer SS16/17 runway, vampy lipstick adds a touch of oomph and an edge of sex appeal to that feminine sundress.

TEXTURED TRESSES
If the Myer SS16/17 runway is anything to go by, our locks are going to be looking nothing short of fabulous this season. International stylist Kevin Murphy directed the hair, keeping the looks natural, carefree and super stylish. A note to self: Textured chignons are high on the agenda this season, with the look designed to accentuate cheekbones and complement spring’s biggest make-up trends. The key is to keep it looking casual – that, we can do.

TEA-STAINED LIDS
What’s brewing this season? Faces awash with punchy peaches and earthy yellows. Did we mention this was for the eyes? Yes, the trend for tea-stained peepers is set. While it might seem a little risky, with the proper placement and blending skills, the ‘sunken-eye’ is both a bold and feminine move. Our advice? Experiment with this one. Focus on the coral hues in your make-up kit for a sunset vibe, use a red lip pencil then smudge for a soft pink shade or work with a little bronzer to give your peepers a more sunkissed glow. The choice is yours.

BLUE-EYED GIRL
This non-neutral is a staple for spring, but the question remains: How do you wear it? When it comes to blue eye make-up, the possibilities are endless. Go smoky with a sparkly navy, bring on the bold cyan, or build up the lid with a soft periwinkle.

STRAIGHT OUTTA THE POOL
Remember Kim Kardashian’s wet-look hair at the VMAs? That’s what’s hot this season. Straight out of the shower, wet, slicked hair is happening all through to the end of summer. Effortless, low-maintenance, but high on trend? We’re all for it.

LASH OUT
In recent seasons, mascara has taken a backseat in favour of no-make-up make-up, but those fluttery, spider-like lashes are back with a vengeance. Spring says go hard or go home – overstated, accentuated doll-like lashes are key this season. Loads of length on the top – and bottom! – lash-lines creates bold and full face-framing peepers. Fake it, coat it and promote it!

ALL THAT GLITTERS
Spring provides an easy, go your own way guide to sparkle. And though it was a trend that was present throughout winter, there are new ways to embrace the glitter craze. Starry eyes, glitter ponytails, dusted hair parts, glitter tears and sequined lips are just the beginning.

Love the vampire lips! I hate the usual coral and pastel lip colours that trend during spring. I love my lipstick the darker, the better. Also mega lashes and glitter, yaaas please! Don't mind a line of blue eye liner along with my dark smoky eyes too!

Love these trends but honestly I have never been a fan of blue eyeshadow unless it is more of a navy colour.

Love how subtly sweet the tea stained eye makeup look is! It would look gorgeous alongside a neutral lip

Just because a look is created for some models doesn't make it a trend that people will love. These makeup looks don't appear well-balanced i.e. the tea-stained lips with no makeup elsewhere make the girls look unwell.

This is when I realise I'm seriously too old to even bother with something I think is weird or unflattering and not be the slightest bit fazed.

There's no way I'd do most of those. Actually, I can't pull of that shade of red either - I'd need it deeper so I won't be doing ANY of those.

Aside from the candy apple lips and blue lids...they're all hideous!

Haha agreed! So many just blindly follow and praise trends without actually consulting their taste department lol

Digging the candy apple and vamp lips - though corporate law I prefer to go light pink/nude (better to blend in court vs. stand out).
I do actually dig the tea stained look but not sure how it would look on me.
The lashes freak me out :/
I LOVE glitter my nights out - definitely use M.A.C's pigment glitter for long lasting shimmer.
