How-to: pretty as a picture half-ponytail

Remember sporting a half-ponytail as a kid? Bet it didn’t look nearly as chic as this gorgeous ‘do (I know mine certainly didn’t!) And given that this trendy new take on the old-school look is pretty smokin’ hot, I figured I’d better give you a how-to quick smart!

Here’s how Pantene Global Ambassador, Sam McKnight, and Pantene Australia’s Expert Stylist, Barney Martin, created the look for the Moschino Cheap and Chic A/W ‘11 runway:

1.) Start with freshly washed and conditioned hair (try: Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Shampoo and Conditioner for added body and movement).

2.) Work some Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Body Builder Mousse through your damp hair, then blow-dry using a round or paddle brush. Don’t worry about keeping it too straight, as the finished look needs to have some texture.

3.) Let your hair fall into a natural centre parting, before gently backcombing the section of hair around your crown and carefully smoothing it back with a soft bristled brush.

4.) Keeping one piece of hair free, tie your hair into a half-ponytail, then wind the loose piece of hair around your elastic band to cover it completely, and secure in place with a bobby pin.

5.) Finally, finish with a light spray of Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Body Builder Hairspray all over the hair to hold the style.

How did you used to wear your hair as a kid?
