Easy hairstyles for every length: Long

STYLE #1: TOP KNOT WITH SCARF
“This is one of my biggest go-to hairstyles – it’s simple, takes no time but looks great! I start off by brushing my hair into a tight, high pony and secure it with a Lady Jayne Super Hold Elastic. I always use a thicker elastic as it keeps my hair in place.
Next, I grab the length of my pony, and wrap it around the base into a bun, and then secure it with another elastic. If I have any fly aways, I’ll use a hairspray like Aveda Air Control Hair Spray to smooth them down.
To finish, I tie a colourful scarf around my head into a bow, and voila!” - bh's Caitlin
STYLE #2: EVERYDAY WAVES
“I love adding a few waves to my hair to give it body and movement. To start, I always spritz my hair with a heat protectant spray. At the moment, I’m loving the ghd Heat Protect Spray. Next, I section my hair and apply the TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)done Wave Creating Sea Foam to the section, which helps create my soft waves.
Starting with the bottom half of my hair, I take a small section about 4cm wide and wrap it around the ghd curve, then I repeat this step until my entire head is done.
To finish, I spray my hair with the Aveda Air Control Hair Spray, flip my head upside down and then ruffle my locks. Easy!” - bh's Caitlin

I love the scarf, I'm alway nervous with accessories myself.

Unfortunately neither buns or waves seem to work with my fine hair.

Top one would be good in summer, great for humid weather when my hair frizzes up! Love the loose waves, so classic and feminine

Really needed this. Loving the idea of adding a scarf with my top knot. I'm in such a hair rut and my long hair driving me crazy. Probably need to get a cut first..

I have medium length hair which I love, but I miss being able to put my hair up in a topknot

sigh.......I remember the days of having long hair and loving all the looks you could create with them. Love the every day waves as when I was a teenager, the only way of creating that look was after being at the beach.

I am a bit sick and tired of the pony tail and top knot, was looking for a bit more inspiration

I like these tutorials, thank you. They are easy to create and every day modern women styles.

The waves that you have done on the page is just how my hair is on a daily basis. And I do get tired of this. I usually straighten it or do a half up style. As I do struggle doing the buns as I cant hold my arms up for long

Yawn. I didn't like either. Not much inspiration for me.

Both styles look great. I'm more of a messy top knot kind of person but love this look with the added headband twist. I like ce every day waves but for me it would be an effort to have them every day.

I like the waves and need to try this with my hair. I don't think I would ever wear a scarf in my hair though. It just isn't me.

I have hair that is fine textured (very silky light) and it is longer than hers....so waves like this one are impossible. But when wearing braids (most of the time I do), then there is natural wave to the hair. Shame it is always so humid and sticky to wear it, my hair goes PUFF! Top knot I can not wear, my face shape is odd and head big, so it becomes even bigger with that first style (as bun is bigger as well)

I have never been able to pull of top knots/buns. No matter what I try they just won't work for me. However they do look great on others (I love the example in this article)

I love the waves, feel like that is such a versatile look and it looks amazing with long hair. As someone with longer hair I prefer my natural waves over my straightened hair.

Am I allowed to vote for an interim step?
I really like the Step 2 picture on Style 2. I'd wear my hair like that to work, or even to a party.

Love the waves, looks gorgeous. Not sure if I can pull off a scarf around my head, not really me but still looks good
