Best cheap dry shampoo

Dry shampoo is a vital part of any woman’s beauty kit, but good news – it doesn’t have to be expensive. After years of relying of dry shampoo to get me through the week between washes (yes, I only wash it once a week!), I’ve given up on shelling out for the expensive options and whittled my choices down to only the very best cheap dry shampoo products.

After all, who can really be bothered washing their hair every day? To those dedicated women who do, I salute you. When I think about washing my hair, I just feel overwhelmed at the seemingly major task ahead of me and usually end up reaching for my beauty BFF – a trusty can of dry shampoo. Then it’s the next day and I still can’t bothered, so I go for dry shampoo again… and then again the next day… and then again the next day, until finally it’s Friday, my can of dry shampoo has run out and I’m forced to grab another. And when you’re stocking up on a product so often, it really starts to run up your budget.

So if you’re like me and empty way too many cans of dry shampoo into your locks, you’re probably looking for a cost-effective dry shampoo that will get the job done – without having to take out a loan to cover all your hair-related debt.

Thankfully, the hair gods have blessed us with plenty of great dry shampoo formulas that won’t break the bank (or trash your locks for that matter). Here’s beautyheaven’s edit of the best cheap dry shampoo formulas on the market.

Batiste Dry Shampoo & De-Frizz

“Half the reason I reach for wash-postponing dry shampoos is to avoid taking a straightner to my strands multiple times a week (I’m a style, set and forget type of girl), so this newbie from Batiste is amazing for helping me avoid further damage whist also harnessing keratin to seal and strengthen my mane. Win win.” – bh’s Delaney

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Nettle Tinted

“I’ve recently gone back to my roots (literally) by growing out my blonde colour. This change has meant I need to switch to a dry shampoo that caters to my naturally-brunette roots and this one from Klorane is excellent – it absorbs oil faster than the speed of light and doesn’t stain my hair or clothing.” – bh’s Kate

A’kin Dry Shampoo

“I purchased this dry shampoo for when my hair is looking a bit greasy and flat. This product does not disappoint and works well to reduce the shiny, flat look of greasy hair. It is vegan, cruelty-free, Australian owned and made, cheap and it actually works – what more could you ask for in a product?” – bh member APounder

Schwarzkopf got2b Fresh It Up Brown Dry Shampoo

“I love this dry shampoo so much. It’s for brunettes so I can spray it in seconds before I leave the house and massage it through whenever and wherever (no white residue!). It’s affordable and has a sweet cocoa scent I’m obsessed with.” – bh’s Eloise

JUSTICE Professional Dry Shampoo

“If you’re in Just Cuts or at a mall, you might as well pick this baby up for an easy $12.95! I love this one cause it is super simple to apply, smells good (so makes my hair smell good) and goes nicely with the Smooth & Groom cream.” – bh member TheGlowManifesto

Pantene Pro-V Volume Booster Dry Shampoo

This has become my go-to dry shampoo over all other brands. It is clear on my hair, no powder and no residue! It gives my roots some lift, removes the oil and most importantly, takes care of the smell. I can’t believe how good this product is and how well it works for me – this would be the first brand of dry shampoo that doesn’t cause me to itch. Best dry shampoo I have used and will make sure I never run out!” – bh member duality

Dove Refresh and Care Dry Shampoo

“I stumbled upon this beauty at Chemist Warehouse. Love the signature floral Dove scent and it’s not too overpowering! I found that this worked best when I used a little bit before bed and a little bit in the morning. For a decent dry shampoo at a reasonable price point, I think this is a winner.” – bh member thetweecollective

L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay-to-Spray Dry Shampoo

“I’ve tried quite a few dry shampoos in my day, mostly to cover up sweat from the gym. None have come as close to texture as this one! Once brushed over, it leaves absolutely no residue! It leaves hair very lightweight and keeps it fresh between washes (or gym sessions). So thankful for this genius product!” – bh member Sugarmama91
