11 of the best humidity frizz-fighters

Picture this.
You’ve set out for a perfect summer’s day with your girlfriends, only to realise that your specially crafted ponytail is now more ‘grizzly bear’ than gorgeous.
It’s the humidity! It’s come and played havoc with your strands, making them spring any which way they can and leaving your ‘do in a downright depressing state.
So how do you stop the humidity from playing hardball with your hair? Try one of these frizz fighters on for size…
#1: Aveda Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother
“I love to use the Smooth Infusion Style Prep in combination with the Aveda Daily Hair Repair on damp hair before styling. Combining these products gives me smooth, soft, beautiful tresses and controls frizz all day long. The Smooth Infusion Style Prep has a slight citrus aroma that I enjoy. I find Aveda’s aromas quite mild in comparison to a lot of other brands which makes this brand one of my husband’s favourites too!” – brittany200
#2: Goldwell StyleSign Satin Guard
If you’re after a product that can provide your ‘do with shield-like protection from humidity, this is just what you need. In fact, this weightless gem provides humidity protection for up to 72 hours and contains anti-static and colour protection, too.
#3: Indola Innova Wonder Treatment
Why not use a product that provides not one, not two, but 10 treatments to your hair? This multi-purpose leave-in treatment works to deliver instant shine, a smooth finish, detangling, nourishing and repair benefits, bounce, vitality, UV and colour protection, reduced split ends, moisture balance, easier blow-drying and fantastic frizz control! Woah.
#4: De Lorenzo AfterGLOW
This anti-humidity shine spray is the perfect product to have with you all through summer. The lightweight spritz leaves a mist over your hair that doesn’t feel greasy, in fact, it sits on top of your hair, helping to tame frizz and protect from humidity. Formulated with a blend of natural organic ingredients such as goji berry and Australian desert raisin extract, this nourishing gem works to reignite the shine of natural hair.
#5: Fudge Matte Mineral Anti-Frizz Deconstruction Spray
If you’re a fan of a blow dry, this finishing spray is set to be your new best friend. Designed to hold curls and prevent frizz, this multi-functional hair tamer features French green clay to provide added hold and texture to your style while keeping the frizzy effects of humidity at bay.
#6: Klorane Mango Oil
“I really like how this oil is so lightweight yet so nourishing. My hair is soft and smooth after using it and also easier to brush through. It protects against UV so it's amazing for protecting your hair while outdoors, love that!” - Jacquelinee
#7: L’Oréal Paris Elvive Smooth-Intense Anti-Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner
“I love the fresh smell of this product so much I am addicted to it. I started using these products years back when my hair got so dry, frizzy and damaged from all the colouring and straightening I'd done to it and every time I switch products I always come back to this one. It definitely improved the condition of my hair and protected it from humidity. I'm always getting comments on how great my hair smells, too. The price is very affordable, and I really can't believe that for that price it works.” - Diishere
#8: glo essentials Infinite Shine Smoothing Oil
Formulated with the hydrating powers of essential fatty acids and antioxidants, this nourishing treatment works to protect, soften and restore natural shine to your hair. The addition of nourishing jojoba, argan and coconut oil means that dryness and frizz are greatly reduced, blow-drying is faster and your hair feels silky smooth for longer.
#9: Vitashine Professional Smoothing Serum
This nourishing serum provides an anti-frizz action that works to effectively smooth and calm your hair. Containing a blend of argan and apricot kernel oils, this silky treatment will absorb easily into your hair without leaving a greasy film on your strands.
#10: KMS California HAIRSTAY Anti-Humidity Seal
“I used this in the old packaging and it sprays as a fine mist that you put on after you've heat styled your hair to keep it in place when out and about in humid weather. I live in Victoria so humidity isn't that big of an issue but I did like this product, it smoothed down any frizz, left a nice shine and the scent was the best part! My BF would always nuzzle my neck and try to secretly get a wiff!” - saltine
#11: Hot muk smoothing serum
This weightless serum features UV filters, which help to guard your strands against colour fade and sun damage. The weightless serum also provides hair with shine, eliminates static and controls flyaway hair, all without the heavy, greasy film that other serums can impart.

I always seem to come back to "Elvive" - it works for me and is affordable. I do occasionally try other shampoos, treatments and conditioners like "Kerastase" but that range is too expensive for me to afford all the time.
