Big hair, very big hair!
My hair: super fine texture, thick, tailbone length, highlighted. It is straight naturally and just goes straight down with some wave from braids (I have to sleep in not to tangle into my own hair.)
This spray: smells herbal and nice, has alcohol, takes a bit longer for my hair to dry I think with it sprayed on onto after washed wet hair. Big issue: brushing hair with the product in. Result: big volume, from root to ends! Soft hair. And does not take away the shine. Keeps natural hair shine. Works. Also great to make hair look textured (especially if hair is so fluff like mine and hard to brush with the spray in) and beachy, and ....Big!

Not as good as expected
I got myself overhyped for this product by reading all these reviews and ended up a bit disappointed. I got this in my latest beautorium haul and used it as per the instructions. Unfortunately this did not give me much volume. The bottle is also a bit leaky. On the plus side, it smells really good and does not leave my roots oily.

Great, not sticky, fantastic volume.
I have fine curly (read - frizzy) hair which, as it's fine tends to fall flat at the roots so I am always looking for products to give me a boost.
I've tried MANY different products over the years and they have all left me disapointed - usually making my hair a sticky mess or really greasy.
So, when I saw this one in the rewards room I knew I had to try it - as I'm already a fan of the Aveda Curl Enhancer.
I am so happy I did! This spray gives me the volume i need without any stickiness at all. It also doesn't leave my hair greasy and in fact aside from having thicker feeling roots I wouldn't even know there was product in my hair. And the smell is the usual divine that you expect from Aveda. It could be stronger and last longer in my option but I'm not complaining!
I spray it in when my hair is damp and diffuse - I've only used it in the roots as that's where I need the volume so not sure how it would work down to the ends.
The results last for multiple days.
Anyone who needs some lift at the roots - fine, curly hair

I really like this Aveda Volumizing Tonic spray. I have long, fine hair that is not voluminous naturally, so it needs all the help it can get!
After washing my hair and letting it partially air-dry, I lift patches of hair and spray directly onto the roots. I brush it through, then let it completely air dry or sometimes blow dry it.
I like the subtle scent, the volume it provides, and how it is so lightweight!

Fabulous For Fine Hair.
I have baby fine hair that flops easily and hates anything that weighs my hair down. I decided to try this in the 40ml size and I will definitely be buying the larger bottle when I've finished the smaller size. I've tried countless volumizing products, some have worked, most haven't. I've had ones that worked but left my hair feeling sticky or stiff and others that have had build up of product far more quickly than I think they should.
I've tried the Aveda Thickening Tonic and it was reasonable but nowhere near as good or effective as this Volumizing Tonic for my hair. It is very simple to spray where you want fullness and extremely economical. It fluffs my hair well but brushes out so there is nothing left but the extra fullness I want.
I have never had a hair product that has been as effect as this for adding volume without any other effect I didn't want.
Spray lightly where you want extra volume and fullness. It is good for between shampoos too.
Anyone with baby fine hair needing extra volume.

The aveda volumizing tonic is a really great product.
I've had fine long hair for a long time which can be a bit difficult to get volume into- I like this one because it is a spray & easy to use- no pastes, no sticky foams, no gels and no cruncy weighed down feeling.
The spray bottle is easy to use- two or three sprays for me into my damp hair and volume is mine. It has a great smell, does what it says and is nice and gentle on the hair. Blow drying leaves my hair voluminous, hydrated and with bounce and shine. I love that there is no sticky or crunchy feeling. Im also very happy with the fact tha t it lasts all day.
Repurchase: Since discovering the aveda thickening tonic- I prefer that one over this one because it gives me body and thickening so thats the only reason I wouldnt repurchase this one.
This product is a must try for those with dry fine hair- it delivers on promises, leaves hair smooth, soft and voluminous without weighing down or drying out. Also no frizz here!!
Spray 2-3 pumps onto wet hair and then blow dry.
Dry damaged hair that needs volume and bounce.

My favourite volumising product
I've always battled my fine, limp locks. This tonic was my first experience with volumising hair products and I've tried many now, but I always come back to this one. It smells great, a little goes a long way and it does what it's supposed to do - it creates volume. It doesn't leave hair feeling stiff, but it does help create a bit of texture which helps with styling. It's a fantastic product.
Apply to damp hair before blow drying or to dry hair to add a bit of texture.
Fine, limp hair.

Works wonders on fine hair
My hair is very fine, and products I have previously tried tended to weigh my hair down. This does the opposite. I spray it on, blow dry and my hair has so much more volume and body. My hair also feels really soft. This is by far the best volumising product I have tried so far.

I have extremly fine hair and I have been searching for that holy grail product for years. Generally these volumising products just leave my hair so frizzy, almost like I have rubbed a balloon all over my hair.
This great product has been my saviour in recent weeks. The bottle looks great and has a spray nozzle which you use to spray the tonic directly to the roots of your damp hair and then style as usual. I blow dry my hair and can see the difference straight away. Rather than having a frizz ball I am left with what feels like thicker hair and I cannot work out how they do it.
Like most products my hair is not a soft as it is naturally but it hardly crunchy. I like to use the Aveda Style prep smoother with this and love the final look.
Friends have commented on how healthy my hair looks and of course I have raved about my new favourite hair product.
It is also worth noting that I found the volume lasts all day. A definate re-purchase product.

adds fantastic volume.
the first thing i noticed about this spray was it smell. I love it. Its like an aniseed kind of smell but unfortunately it dosnt last long. I use this product on my roots to plump them up and give some lift. Try not to over use this product as it can become quiet gritty. It reminded me of a sea salt spray. For a curled style, i applied this product into my ends and then curled with a straighten, it really helped in controlling my hair and keeping the curls in. This producted worked well in adding some life into my hair.

I have very fine, curly hair that always falls flat no matter what I do to it. That is until I found Aveda's Volumizing Tonic. I just spray this into my wet hair at the roots before blowdrying and the results are truly amazing. My hair is left with incredible volume, even if I choose to straighten it, and the volume remains until I wash my hair again. I haven't found any other product that does anything like this.

my hair can get quite flat and stuck to my head and my hairdresser styled this into my roots before my blow dry and BOOM I had lift-off, very impressed with the staying power also lasted all day on my hair, not weighty or oily!
