2015 has definitely challenged the norm, beauty-wise. We’ve seen a number of unusual hair trends blow up on social media (pixelated hair, anyone?) and even weirder ones grace the catwalks (baby burns, I’m lookin’ at you), so it should come as no surprise that there’s another strange hair trend in town – and it’s going to confuse the hell out of the masses. Ladies, we’re talking about the Instagram phenomenon #SplitHair.
As the name suggests, it’s when you dye half of your hair one colour, and the other half another colour. Can’t decide between two pastels? Go with both. Thinking of dyeing your hair but you’re low on funds? Just do half. Want to try a new hair shade but not sure if it’ll suit? Test it out first.
Yes, it seems the half-half movement knows no bounds, with some opting for a more subtle contrast, like this natural blonde and brown combo:

And then there are those who make us wish we were a mermaid:
Yep, it’s safe to say the trend is dividing the bh team. And as much we all have our own opinions on the look, there’s definitely one thing we all can agree on: whoever started the trend obviously took cues from Cruella De Vil.
