The beauty secrets all natural beauties know

You know that girl who always rocks up looking a little bit dishevelled, yet ridiculously stunning? You probably spent about two hours getting ready, but she looks like she made no effort at all. So. Unfair. Well, I have good news for you: you can be like her. Here’s how to enhance your natural beauty with ease…
1. There’s no point fighting your natural hair type
The natural beauty doesn’t fight her hair. Of course, curly-haired girls should still have fun with styling tools if they want to, but there’s something totally sexy about embracing your natural ‘do, kinks and all. To save time on hair prep, choose a shampoo formulated to enhance the strands you’ve already got. TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)done Shampoo and Conditioner promotes natural waves, so you can literally wash and go.
2. Good skin means less make-up
Picture your #girlcrush. Does she always have a dewy glow about her? How did she get this, you ask? Well, if we had to guess, we’d say she didn’t spend hours on her make-up look, but she has invested in a good skincare routine. She’s not spending big bucks, either – a quality face cleanser and a nourishing moisturiser such as Physiogel Daily Moisture Therapy Cream are usually all she needs. Can’t resist slapping on some foundation? Try one that actually benefits your skin, such as ulta3 Perfect Balance Foundation (and take it off before bed!).
3. Blush is your best friend
It’s the effortlessly babin’ girl’s favourite product. Want to get her gorgeous glow? Don’t just snap up the first pink-ish powder you see – it may not be the right blush shade for you. As someone with a medium skin tone, I swear by Designer Brands Natural Ground Minerals Blush for a peachy sheen. Once you’ve found your perfect shade, let bh’s Debbie show you how to apply it like a pro.
4. Polish-free nails are #onpoint
Many girls spend hours painstakingly doing their manis, but if your nails aren’t in great condition to start with, they’ll most likely chip or break, undoing all your hard work. Natural beauties, on the other hand, know that neat, polish-free nails never go out of style. The quickest way to get great natural nails is to use a nail hardener, like the Mavala Scientifique Penetrating Nail Hardener or Revitanail Nail Strengthener. Save the fancy mani for a special occasion – it’ll make an even bigger statement.
5. Sleep is your best beauty weapon
You might think beauty writers harp on too much about sleep, but it’s only because we know it’s the best beauty enhancer there is. In fact, all the fancy creams and serums in the world won’t get rid of those undereye bags if you’re not getting enough shut-eye. Head to bed an hour earlier than usual and you’ll not just feel like a million bucks, you’ll look more beautiful too.
Top tip: To help you drift off, spritz a pillow mist such as In Essence Sleep Easy Pillow Mist.
6. Less is almost always more
You know that saying about taking off one piece of jewellery or clothing before you leave the house? The same thing goes for your beauty look. A smoky-eye/red-lip combo might seem like a good idea at the time, but chances are you’ll end up looking like you tried wayyy too hard. Cue the natural beauty, who swans in with a fresh, dewy base and a simple lip stain in one of these on-trend winter colours. Try e.l.f. cosmetics Studio Lip Stain in ‘Berry Blush’.

7. Confidence is key
To make the most out of your pared-back beauty look, you’ll need to amp up the sass-factor. It may sound weird, but having great breath is a sure-fire way to make you feel confident – so try to have some mints or a breath freshener such as Aveda Peppymint Breath Refresher handy at all times. Good posture will also help to enhance your natural allure, so push your shoulders back and your chin up, girl!

I follow all of them. Never cared that much for the makeup part of things, totally addicted to skincare though. My hair and nails get quite minimal effort. Try to focus more on eating well so they are naturally healthy

I barely ever style my hair. My hair is in a ponytail most of the time. Plus I do try to look after my skin the best that I can, I prefer not wearing makeup, so it does require a lot of care to get it looking good.

I have a "natural" approach when it comes to looks. I don't like to look like I have used a lot of effort. But lately it has not been easy as I haven't been getting enough sleep!

Good Sleep, lots of water and a simple but effective skincare routine are the best things you can do, not only in the short term to not have to wear so much make up - but for life long beauty. Great Article.

I think following a good skincare routine which best suits your skin type is important. A good canvas is important for a makeup.

Wow I just cannot agree more with this article, although I am very very lazy with blush myself.
Yes - GOOD SKIN means LESS (or no) MAKEUP! This is so important. I have a lot of clients come to me for makeup and they wanted the "natural" or "minimal" look, but if the skin is not great to start off with, it is very hard to pull off a "natural" look.

Great advice!! I do most of these & less is more but with a natural look with a little bit of makeup still looks hot.
