Jules Sebastian is many things: wife to Aussie muso Guy Sebastian, the newly announced ambassador for haircare brand Biolage, mother to two young boys, and host of online interview show ‘Tea With Jules’. Phew.
She is also, of course, the reason we get up half an hour early in an attempt to replicate her effortlessly chic waves.
We caught up with Jules to chat all things beauty, from her biggest hair regrets to how she maintains the perfect blonde bob.

What does your hair routine currently look like?
“First, I shampoo and condition with Biolage Colourlast, followed by a quick spritz with Biolage All-In-One Coconut Infusion Spray! I blow dry this in, then run the Halo curling tong through my hair to get the natural beach curl. To add a bit of texture and volume, I finish with a light spritz of Biolage VolumeBloom Full Lift Volumizer Spray,” she explains.
What’s the most mortifying hairstyle you’ve ever had?
“Well in the 90s I went for the pixie hair cut… I regretted it immediately!” says Jules (not to say it doesn’t look fabulous on others). As for what she asks for in the salon nowadays? “Basically a long bob,” she shares.
What’s the one hair trend you’ve always wanted to try but never had the nerve to actually get?
“I actually think I have tried them all! Long, short, straight, wavy, and all the in- between. I have had all the colours… hair extensions, pixie cut – all of them! I even had black hair with blonde tips!” she says.
What’s a mum hack you use to streamline your beauty routine and get out the door?
“Put everything that you actually use every day in one bag in the bathroom – your five basic things – and keep everything in there always. This goes for hair and face. Also, when something is running low, buy it immediately!” Jules advises.
On ‘Tea With Jules’ Jules quizzes her guests on their favourite products and can’t-leave-home-without items. We played a game of rapid fire with Jules to find out hers.

What are your 3 favourite luxe beauty buys?
“Biolage Exquisite Oil, Rationale 50+ sunscreen, and Givenchy Lip Tint.”
Which perfume do you wear on the daily?
“Frederic Malle Portrait of A Lady or Tom Ford Black Orchid.”
Who would be your dream guest on Tea with Jules?
“I have to say two: Cate Blanchett andBrene Brown.”
I've used VOEU Facial Cleansing Wipes because they are cheap. My handbag always has hand cream, lip balm and a 10ml fragrance spray (currently a Green tea).
I do love the look of that lip balm. I’ve never tried Biolage products. I’ve never heard of the Editions De Parfums fragrance. I don’t like Tom Ford Black Orchid It just doesn’t suit me.
Such great advice from Jules Sebastian love Paw paw Cream lovely lip balm and some fantastic affordable products the perfume is a tad expensive for me to be able to buy it. But I bet it smells divine.
I love QV's body wash, always have a 1L bottle in my bathroom. Jules seems pretty down to earth and like a lovely person
I have tried Biolage Products and my hair liked it
I love reading these
I found this interesting and good to see that Jules uses products that many of us use
The VOEU facial wipes are great and an excellent price. I also use QV's body wash it's an essential in my shower!
Jules has such beautiful hair.
I must say that the Tom Ford Black Orchid perfume bottle is beautiful but I've never smelled it before
I have never used any of the Biolage products. I wonder if they have samples
Theoretically I should be able to do my hair like hers but actually doing it is a different matter!
I absolutely love the Biolage range. Also the VOEU facial wipes are great!
great read, love the lip balm
Nothing in common. In the handbag I need: keys, money card and opal card. So on daily basis i would not wear handbag, but a pocket 🙂
We are completely simpatico in the fragrance department. Two of my faves!
I had never heard of her. I'm so out of this loop. Not really into her faves either.
Would like to try that Superfluid spf50
I use some of the products listed. I'd love to try the Tom Ford fragrance but at that price it would have to be sample size.
The Givenchy lip balm looks great!
I have heard great things about the Biolage range
Have never heard of her.
nice article
Beautiful hair and killer eyebrows
Love the look of Tom Ford. QV products are excellent.
Ok I need the lip balm.
Some of Jule's faves are products I love too.
Great interview with Jules, I have to admit I knew little about her apart from the fact she is married to Guy.
The rationale 50+ sunscreen sounds like an essential too.
Ditto, clearcrystalwater me too.
Wow, those eyebrows, definitely on fleek.
I've never tried Biolage but I heard it's good!
Great article.
I just adore Jules, she is so nice!
I like her streamlining tips, but why carry an eyelash curler & mascara in your handbag? I do my makeup in the morning & only touch up my lippy after lunch or a cuppa.
My three handbag essentials, apart from necessities like purse & keys: lippy, compact mirror & tweezers.
Love the tips!
I have not tried Bioloage Products but I do love the paw paw ointment listed.
I have my go to stash bundled in one bag. I’m more inclined to stick to my routine if my products are more accessible to me.
I've used Biolage hair products in the past and while they were very good, I think nowdays I can find products that works equally well for a lesser price.
I didn't even know Guy Sebastian was married? I don't think we have any beauty products in common, my skin reacts badly to Voeu . I do want to get some tongs and try the beach waves though.
Frederic Malle perfumes have unique scents I particularly am fond of ‘French lover’
