Jules Sebasatian shares her beauty faves (and the secret to her cool-girl waves)

Jules Sebastian is many things: wife to Aussie muso Guy Sebastian, the newly announced ambassador for haircare brand Biolage, mother to two young boys, and host of online interview show ‘Tea With Jules’. Phew.

She is also, of course, the reason we get up half an hour early in an attempt to replicate her effortlessly chic waves.

We caught up with Jules to chat all things beauty, from her biggest hair regrets to how she maintains the perfect blonde bob.

What does your hair routine currently look like?

“First, I shampoo and condition with Biolage Colourlast, followed by a quick spritz with Biolage All-In-One Coconut Infusion Spray! I blow dry this in, then run the Halo curling tong through my hair to get the natural beach curl. To add a bit of texture and volume, I finish with a light spritz of Biolage VolumeBloom Full Lift Volumizer Spray,” she explains.

What’s the most mortifying hairstyle you’ve ever had?

“Well in the 90s I went for the pixie hair cut… I regretted it immediately!” says Jules (not to say it doesn’t look fabulous on others). As for what she asks for in the salon nowadays? “Basically a long bob,” she shares.

What’s the one hair trend you’ve always wanted to try but never had the nerve to actually get?

“I actually think I have tried them all! Long, short, straight, wavy, and all the in- between. I have had all the colours… hair extensions, pixie cut – all of them! I even had black hair with blonde tips!” she says.

What’s a mum hack you use to streamline your beauty routine and get out the door?

“Put everything that you actually use every day in one bag in the bathroom – your five basic things – and keep everything in there always.  This goes for hair and face.  Also, when something is running low, buy it immediately!” Jules advises.

On ‘Tea With Jules’ Jules quizzes her guests on their favourite products and can’t-leave-home-without items. We played a game of rapid fire with Jules to find out hers.

“Hand cream, eyelash curler and mascara.”

What are your 3 favourite budget beauty buys?

“Paw paw cream, QV body moisturiser, and Voeu makeup remover wipes.”

What are your 3 favourite luxe beauty buys?

“Biolage Exquisite Oil, Rationale 50+ sunscreen, and Givenchy Lip Tint.”

Which perfume do you wear on the daily?

Who would be your dream guest on Tea with Jules?

“I have to say two: Cate Blanchett andBrene Brown.”

  1. I do love the look of that lip balm. I’ve never tried Biolage products. I’ve never heard of the Editions De Parfums fragrance. I don’t like Tom Ford Black Orchid It just doesn’t suit me.

  2. Such great advice from Jules Sebastian love Paw paw Cream lovely lip balm and some fantastic affordable products the perfume is a tad expensive for me to be able to buy it. But I bet it smells divine.

  3. I like her streamlining tips, but why carry an eyelash curler & mascara in your handbag? I do my makeup in the morning & only touch up my lippy after lunch or a cuppa.

My three handbag essentials, apart from necessities like purse & keys: lippy, compact mirror & tweezers.

  4. I didn't even know Guy Sebastian was married? I don't think we have any beauty products in common, my skin reacts badly to Voeu . I do want to get some tongs and try the beach waves though.
