Best SLS-free shampoos for blondes

As a bottle blonde myself, I know the importance of finding a good blonde shampoo to rid my locks of dull, brassy tones.

But the more time I spend chatting with experts and learning about hair care (luckily it’s part of my job!), the more I realise that not all blonde shampoos are made equal. And in fact, some blonde shampoos may be doing more harm to your colour than good.

Most shampoos on the market are formulated with an ingredient called Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or ‘SLS’ for short. SLS is a foaming agent that lathers to remove dirt and build up. And while SLS in our cleansing products isn’t necessarily a bad thing (although it does get a bad rap – but that’s another story!), the ingredient can negatively affect dyed hair by fading colour and stripping away oils from already dry and damaged locks.

So when you’re spending half your pay cheque on the perfect blonde balayage, that’s a risk that none of us cannot afford.

Here are my top picks for SLS-free shampoos for blondes that will keep your tresses vibrant, hydrated, and brass-free!
