Just because you’re not a model, doesn’t mean you can’t strut down the street sporting a head turning hairstyle. Here’s how to steal their style!

Sass & Bide, RAWF 2008

The style: Funky plaits (cornrows)

“Sass & Bide’s collection is really quite youthful and spunky, so we wanted to contradict – but compliment this – with androgynous cornrows.

“To begin, the hair needs to be pretty straight and sleek. Blow-dry hair using Wella System Professional Pearl Smooth to deliver a demi-shine finish and control flyaways.

“Part hair in the middle and section outwards in equal parts. Clip to secure.

“Starting from the middle, grab three smaller portions of your section and instead of traditionally plaiting from the outside in over the top of the section, you plait from the outside in under the section, grabbing the hair from the scalp as you work down. It’s basically an upside down plait.

“Repeat this throughout all the sections and once you get to the end of the lengths, secure with an invisible elastic. When all the plaits are complete, plait them together and wrap into a bun. If your hair is short, and only reaches the nape of the neck, simply secure with a band there.

“Finish with Wella High Hair Finishing Spray for firm control and no messy flyaways.

“Dress this look up with accessories; big earrings, multiple bangles and lots of attitude!”
