Rose Byrne’s Hair Stylist Shares His Secret To The Perfect Chignon

Rose Byrne’s glam squad is working over time this awards season.

The If I Had Legs I’d Kick You actress has been nominated for numerous awards this year (and even won a Golden Globe too).

But despite her busy schedule, Rose’s hair and makeup has looked picture perfect through it all.

From her Golden Globe-winning blow out, to the skin prep that keeps her complexion glowing in the face of all that flash photography — the Aussie actress has been nailing red carpet glam.

Case in point? The 46 year old just strolled down the BAFTA Awards carpet sporting a full face of Lisa Eldridge makeup (care of James Molloy), and the chicest chignon we’ve ever seen.

The actress’ hairstylist Jacob Rozenberg didn’t just craft the look for Rose, he also shared his process with all of his Instagram followers, so they could recreate the glam moment at home.

How To Master The Chignon

“So excited to be here in London for the BAFTA Awards with the beautiful Rose Byrne,” Jacob said. “For tonight’s look, I partnered with Biolage to create a soft, modern chignon with a clean centre part — elegant, effortless, and perfectly tailored for the red carpet.”

“Prep was everything: I started with HydraSource Shampoo ($40.50 from Oz Hair & Beauty) and Conditioner ($35.70 from Oz Hair & Beauty) for hydration and shine,” he explained.

“Then [I] layered Volume Boost Spray ($46 from Adore Beauty), Smooth Proof Serum ($66.82 from Big W), and Thermal Setting Spray ($51.07 from iHerb) to build structure while keeping the hair touchable and smooth,” he went on to say.

“Since Rose has shorter lengths, I used a small hairnet to secure the ends and maintain the shape of the chignon — my go-to trick for a polished finish that lasts all night,” he dished. “Finished with Freeze Fix Hairspray ($55.39 from Big W) to lock everything in while keeping the style cute, soft, and modern.”
