2015’s best red carpet beauty looks…so far

It’s no secret that red carpets are somewhat of a spectator sport at bh. Awards season is the best time of year, and gets the girls more excited than a chocolate delivery (ok, that may be a stretch). With the air abuzz about the Oscars  – and productivity about to go down 110% at the office – we thought we’d take a look at some of 2015’s best red carpet beauty looks so far:

Léa Seydoux

This little lady is living proof that sometimes all you need is a bold lip. Oozing style and femininity on the BAFTAs red carpet, the French actress opted for a playful, pinkish-red lip and a simple blowout with reverse curls.

Get her look: Swipe on a lippie with a pink or red base in a shade that best suits your skin tone. Our go-to? Lancôme Rouge in Love.

Julianne Moore

WOW. Jules, you’re a knockout! Proving that redheads can wear red, she paired her berry lip with soft purple lids and finished off the look with glossy waves.

Get her look: For soft curls like Ms Moore’s, use the Luxcurly Lux Naturalcurling iron. Thanks to its automatic rotator, creating curls has never been easier.

Kim Kardashian

Kanye’s better half took this opportunity to debut her freshly chopped ‘do, and complemented it with her signature contoured cheekbones. Her tousled bob was styled with a classic, almost beachy-style vibe we don’t normally see on Mrs West, but hope we do, again and again.

Get her look: Start with wet hair. Boost volume with Shu Uemura Ample Angora Volumising Mousseand spritz Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray through the midsection of your hair. Use Kérastase Paris Touche Finaleon the ends, then roughly dry your hair and set in an S wave. For metallic eyes like hers, opt for a mix of green and gold eyeshadows, individual false lashes and a thick coating of mascara. Then, apply a touch of highlighter on the cheekbones and bridge of the nose plus a nude lipstick in your colour toneto really make your eyes pop.

Bonnie McKee

She might not be on your radar just yet, but if she keeps rocking up to red carpets looking this good, she will be soon. With cool girl roots, major lashes and plum lips, Bonnie’s look was daring and a little rebellious, putting her high on our ‘one to watch’ list for 2015.

Get her look: Create serious volume with Sunsilk Co-creations Darling Volume Root Lifting Spray and ditch your regular red/pink lippie for a purple one. We’re big MAC Rebel Lipstick fans.

She’s not exactly known for playing it safe, so when Miley showed up to the Grammys with au naturale make-up, we were surprised – and delighted. That slicked back platinum blonde hair stole the spotlight, with the rest of her beauty look pared down to soft pink lips and glowing skin.

Get her look: Miley went for wet-look hair, a trend we’ve been coveting ever since we saw Scarlett Johanssonwith the style. If you’re willing to give it a go, VO5 Wet Look Styling Gelis the product you want in your kit. Apply Maybelline New York SuperStay 14hr Lipstickin Perpetual Peony, and you’re done.

The Barbados-born beauty went for pared-back make-up at the Grammys, letting that pink Giambattista Valli dress do most of the talking. Along with luminous skin, the singer flaunted a soft smoky eye and strong brows that were right on point.

Get her look: For a barely-there eye look that still draws attention, try the MOMMA 3-in-1 Mineral Brow Dust. Add a pair of the MAC 1 Lashfalse lashes for volume, and you’re good to go.

Diane Kruger

Everything about the actress’ look at the Globes screamed ‘polished’, from her perfect Hollywood waves to her manicured toes. To balance her deep, sleek side part, she went for a neutral (and bang on-trend) make-up combo: pearly pink lips and metallic eyes.

Get her look: Celebrity stylist Jen Atkins styled Kruger’s hair with Moroccanoil products including the Luminous HairsprayandVolumising Mousse. To get those retro waves, you’ll need a ½ inch barrel curling iron for the top of the head and around the face.

Allison Williams

While her Girls character, Marnie, is fairly predictable in the beauty department, that’s not how Allison likes to play. Her Golden Globes look was one of our absolute favourites. Seriously, that faux bob with retro waves is beyond beautiful – and we have famed celeb stylist Renato Campora to thank.

Get her look: Make-up artist Gianpaolo Ceciliato rimmed Allison’s entire eye with black pencil and then applied an eye tint and gunmetal shadow to her lid, adding a light beige colour to the inner corner and on the brow bone. To copy her locks, curl your hair, then pin the ringlets flat to your head and allow to cool. Brush out your hair and shape the waves with Wella Professionals Stay Firm Finishing Spray and Smooth Brilliance Shine Pomade. Tuck the bottom of your hair up and under the nape of the neck and secure with bobby pins.

Lupita Nyong’o

Something about this look just stops you in your tracks. Lupita’s skin is absolutely glowing, and her purple eyeshadow, magenta lip and matching dress just bring her big brown eyes in focus.

Get her look: Lupita layered different purple and jewel-toned eyeshadows for her lids. We recommend the Chi Chi Mineral Eyeshadow Quadfor that kind of gradual building. Finish off with Face of Australia Budge-Proof Gel Eyelinerin Pure Purple and then coat your lashes in a long-lasting mascara such as Lancôme Gradiôise. Not 100% sure about purple? Thisshould convince you.
