From runway to resort

From runway to resort

I learnt this week, courtesy of a trapeze lesson – more on that later – that I have trust issues. So you can imagine my emphatic horror for the Project Runway designers when they discovered that, not only would they be expected to create three ready-to-wear outfits for summer 2010 in just 12 hours, but they would have to hand over the all important fabric choice to a first-year designer. Oh the stress.

Lauren, who is fast emerging to be my favourite designer, pretty much cracked it and throughout the episode dubbed the challenged “too much”, “crazy”, “nuts” and said they were in “way over our heads.” Which obviously made for rather riveting viewing.

At least Lauren had carefully selected her assistants though (they got to pick three students from the Whitehouse Institute of Design to help) – Anthony went for the more intuitive approach of asking for Pisceans and quizzing potential assistants about their address!

But still both Lauren and Anthony managed to create really exciting pieces, though Lauren won the hero hair challenge in my opinion – the side swept curls perfectly accentuated the nude colour palette of her collection.

Here’s how to get them at home…

Step 1: towel-dry hair and then spritz on a little TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Protective Tamer Spray. Blow-dry hair straight.

Step 2: starting at the nape of the neck, use the straightener to curl hair (Joh Bailey has some top tips here…)

Step 3: apply TRESemmé Salon Silk No Frizz Serum to tame any flyaways – this is especially important if you have a bold fringe.

Step 4: tie hair in a loose ponytail to the side.

Step 5: await your yacht to St Tropez

How are you with trust issues? What about curling, any tips you’d like to share or any questions you’d like answered?
