Our chat with the new ‘hair’ of Pantene

What’s better than the launch of awesome new hair products? When the brand chooses a stunning, down-to-earth ambassador to be the face (and hair) of the launch.

This is the case for Pantene. They’re launching a new product formulation containing a revolutionary technology, Keratin Damage Blockers – and have recruited stunning Aussie model and businesswoman, Robyn Lawley, to be the poster girl.

bh sat down with Robyn to learn more about the locks chosen for one of the biggest launches in the hair world this year…

bh: How does it feel to be the face (and the hair) of Pantene?

Robin Lawley: It’s a huge honour, and I was super excited because I was really familiar with the products – I had been using certain ones in France when I was 17. Then, my agent called and she told me Pantene were making a new product and that they’d like me to trial it. I’ve been using it for the last few months and I’m thrilled. You know, my hair goes through a lot, and I’ve had moments where I’ve gotten off set and said, “it’s just going to fall out!” But the product is amazing! It replenished my hair and made it look amazing. I don’t even put any product in after washing it!

bh: What is your best haircare tip?

RL: Embrace your natural colour! A lot of girls dye their hair and that causes so much damage. You can have treatments that really help, but that feeling of natural, untouched hair is gone.

bh: I wouldn’t even be able to tell you what my natural colour is!

RL: I had someone tell me to dye my hair this colour years and years ago. Only then did I go, “oh, my natural hair colour is fine! I don’t have to dye it!”

Me, Olivia, with new Pantene Ambassador, Robyn Lawley. (Yes, her hair looked THAT good in real life.)

bh: What is your fail-safe, I’ve-got-5-minutes-to get-out-the-door hair style?

RL: This is usually for castings because I always leave it til the last minute! I put some sea salt spray or prep cream in my hair, then turn it upside down and brush it into a really tight top bun. I put heaps of pins in to keep it up and then right before I’m about to see anyone, I take it out for that beachy, sexy look.

bh: Awesome, I’m going to try that!

RL: It lasts for, like, 10 minutes, but hey –it looks good for those 10 minutes!

bh: Can you share any hair styling secrets with us?

RL: I always shampoo, condition and do weekly treatments. As a model, your hair just gets a beating. Some of my model friends have such horror stories where their hair has been completely burnt and they just have to cut it all off. So I do as many treatments as I possibly can. I just keep it really simple! I also have one of those conical wands, which makes curling my hair really easy.

bh: Which Pantene product can’t you live without?

RL: The Ice Shine Shampoo and the new 7-day treatment masks – they’re amazing. Those are two favourites I always travel with!

bh: Let’s play a little ‘this or that’ – go!

bh: Curly hair or straight strands?
RL: Curly!

bh: Ryan Gosling or Ryan Reynolds?
RL: Ryan Gosling!

bh: Shiny hair or soft hair?
RL: Hmm… Shiny hair!

bh: A bikini or a laser-cut one-piece?
RL: Bikini

bh: Washing your hair or washing your face?
RL: I have to wash my hair because if it’s greasy, I can’t go out like that!

Do you like the sound of the new Pantene products? What’s your best hair styling tip?
