Is she? Or isn’t she?

Is she? Or isn’t she?

When I say I’ve just arrived back in beautyheaven after a lesson with Original Diva, I mean arrived – as in flouncing, with the most flickably flauntable hair that I’ve ever had in my life. And I’m not going to lie, the ‘woah, you look great’ compliments have been rather delicious. But they’re not quite as satisfying as the ‘so, what have you done?’.

Because having great hair is good, but the even better thing about wearing Original Diva clip-in hair inserts is that they’re gloriously undetectable.

As hairdresser Kenneth Stoddart explained while he fabulised my persistently flat tresses in minutes, the secret of these clip-ins is that they’re not just extensions, they’re enhancements.

“They can be the difference between poor quality and rich quality hair,” he said. “If your hair’s stringy, wispy, thin or lacking volume, you can use them to create a richer, thicker look that you can then wear natural or big, blow-dried and glamorous. You can even use them to fill in short layers while you’re growing them out or to add instant highlights of colour.

“The effect can be very subtle – nobody will be able to tell it’s not your real hair.”

Partly because it is. Sort of. Each weft is made from 100 per cent healthy human hair that you can tong, straighten, dye and adopt as your own. And they are very cleverly crafted. The fine, handwoven ones I’m rocking are laying snug against my scalp, not giving away even the tiniest clue that they are responsible for my born-with-it looking bounce. It’s my first wear and I’m hopelessly addicted.

So hooked that I’ve already checked that I can sleep in the fabulousness (yep), how many colours the inserts come in (19) and that I’ll absolutely be able to get the same seamless effect when I clip them in myself at home (originaldiva.com.au has step-by-steps and a demo video).

I even stopped flipping long enough to confirm that you can find Original Diva inserts online and have them delivered to any door in the country. And that you can get a full-head set of eight in a box for $199 to $499.95 (depending on length and thickness) or just clip in single strands for $10.95 each.

You know, just in case you want to try them out for yourself. They’re that flicking fabulous.
