The verdict…

This is a wonderful shampoo for hair that is colour treated and at the mercy of the sun. It claims to be anti-photodamage, with UV protection that prolongs radiance and vitality of colour. The formula is clear and smells really fresh – it actually reminds me of balmy summer days. It felt especially nourishing on my long coloured hair and it produces a rich lather, yet rinses well without leaving the dreaded residue.

As UV rays are present all year long, this shampoo would be useful anytime for anyone who needs to protect and maintain their colour.

Kerastase Paris Creme UV Defense Active
The price: $32.50

The verdict…
This conditioning, multi-protection cream is formulated for weakened, colour-treated hair. The anti-photodamage properties provide protection against UV rays as well as chlorinated or salt water, so it’s perfect for summer.

This felt like a special treat for my hair and I love the light cream/gel texture and the subtle fresh scent. After using the shampoo [reviewed above], I applied a small dollop evenly throughout my towel dried hair, though this cream can also be used on dry hair. The result: soft, manageable hair with a slight sheen and UV protection to boot. What more could a girl ask for?

My only gripe would be that for $32.50 it is a relatively small tube and probably wouldn’t last long, especially with repeated use throughout summer.

  1. I finally got to try ketastase mask, shampoo and conditioner. Not worth the price. Not bad, but nothing better than its lower priced loreal supermarket range (Elseve or whatever it is called)
