It’s official: Mondayitis exists

Ladies and gents, stop what you’re doing, for I have some interesting news. The good news for those that often feel slovenly when Monday morning rolls around is that Mondayitis actually exists. The bad news girls, is that it only affects him. Sounds about right, eh?

I kid thee not. New research released this week suggests that the traditional Monday morning shave may contribute to reduced worker productivity in young men. Allow me to explain…

To celebrate the launch of the new Braun Series 3 Shaver, the survey sought to measure the impact that shaving a weekend’s worth of facial hair had on young males working weeks. (Yes people actually get paid to think up these ideas. I can’t be certain, but I’m assuming they’re male.)

Almost 60 per cent of 18-35 year old men surveyed revealed that the traditional Monday morning shave signalled an end to the weekend. As a result, a quarter agreed that the Monday morning shave resulted in a blue mood. A similar number said they felt dissatisfied with their jobs on a Monday morning and nearly a third rated themselves as unproductive.

The idea of entering into a Monday melancholic mood is so off-putting that as many as 77 per cent of 18-24 year olds admitted to going to work without shaving at all. Honestly boys. Those that pull their finger out and actually do shave of a Monday will probably be late with 40 per cent of 25-34 year olds saying the Monday morning shave takes longer than usual.

To help cure this spate of zero efficiency, Vince Sorrenti, is on board and urging men (or their women) to purchase the new Braun Series 3 Shaver – helping to eliminate two-day-old growth, it shaves off both short stubble and longer whiskers, without any unpleasant pulling and tugging. You can also try Schick Xtreme 3 SubZero – Cool the Burn, Gillette Fusion Power, Remington Titanium Pivot & Flex F5790 Shaver, Schick Quattro Energy and VS Sassoon Metro Turbo Power Precise.

Do you believe in Mondayitis? And more importantly, do you think it’s solely a male domain?
