Manscaping: Shaping up for Valentine's Day
Long gone are the days when all a man need do is show up with a bunch of flowers or a box of chocolates on Valentine’s Day. These days, us blokes go to real lengths to impress – especially if it’s a new relationship and we’re trying to prove ourselves.
If we’re doing dinner, choosing the right restaurant is only half the dilemma, as booking the more popular places means getting organised weeks, sometimes months, or even a year (yes, a year!) in advance.
And never mind the planning involved in doing something other than eating out. We have to worry about location, catering, comfort – not to mention nervously check the forecast every five minutes (and you say we men make no effort).
And then of course there are the things that go on behind the scenes. Don’t think you ladies are the only ones prettying up in the lead up to V-Day. Guys also get grooming – but it’s not always the hair on our head that’s being trimmed.
This week I was privy to a bit of information from a new survey showing ‘manscaping’ is on the rise, with a whopping 63 per cent of Aussie men between 18 and 35 trimming and shaving places other than their faces. The number one place for tidying up is the nether regions, quickly followed by the chest and back.
So if your man is looking to shape up for Valentine’s Day (or perhaps he needs a hint) here are a few great products specifically designed to tend to the needs of ‘manscapers’:
75 per cent of women claim to prefer a smooth chest on a man – how groomed do you like your guy?
