How to get your guy into grooming

Is your one beauty wish that your man would moisturise? Or style his hair a bit better? Or smell nicer? Well, you’ve come to the right place.
Getting your guy to groom may seem like an impossible task, but believe me when I say he isn’t a lost cause. Here’s how to get him to take a bit more pride in his appearance (no nagging required)…
You wish: His skin wasn’t so rough.
He needs: A face scrub and a moisturiser.
Fact: Soft skin is pretty irresistible, so it’s actually in his best interest to ensure his face is super-smooth. Tell him this as you introduce him to two new bathroom buddies: a face scrub for the shower and moisturiser to follow. He only needs to use the scrub once a week, so no ‘buts’.
Try: GAIA Made for Men Face & Body Scrub and Dr. LeWinn's Men's Day Moisturiser SPF 15.
You wish: He didn’t have hair there.
He needs: A man-friendly hair removal product.
It’s not as if you want to banish every hair on his body, but that funny patch on his back has GOT to go. To get him to draw the same conclusion without coming across as bitchy, mention your own hair removal routine (and how much better you feel having silky-smooth pins for summer). Then, casually ask him if he’s bothered by his own body hair. If all goes to plan, he’ll be begging you for the below.
Try: Nad's For Men Body Waxing Strips or Veet For Men Hair Removal Gel Cream.
You wish: He had a few less greys.
He needs: A simple way to conceal them.
Not every bloke can pull off the ‘silver fox’ look. The good news is, you don’t have to convince your guy to sit while you painstakingly dye his hair for him. All he needs is a clever shampoo that cleans and colours his greys for him. How’s that for multi-tasking?!
Try: Just For Men Shampoo-in Haircolour
You wish: He smelled sexier.
He needs: A signature scent.
Because deodorant doesn’t count. Sorry! A signature scent can make a classy Christmas or birthday present – here are some of our favourites to get you started! Just be sure to rave about how good he smells when he sprays it on.
Try: John Varvatos Vintage or Mary Kay High Intensity Sports Cologne Spray.
You wish: He had nicer nails.
He needs: A no-fuss nailbrush and clippers.
Nothing says he has his life sorted like nice nails. They’ll look a million times better minus the grime – and it’ll only take him 10 seconds to scrub them clean with a nailbrush. Nail clippers are a must-have for keeping them neat and tidy.
Try: Manicare Wooden Nail Brush and Davinci Nail Clipper.

My partner has a good grooming routine. He keeps his hair very short so it is easy maintenance. He has oodles of washes, scents, nail tools and hair products.

I never knew Dr Lewinn's made products for men. Might see if I can buy my man some. He does take care of his face once in a while but gets slack with it.

My hubby does not get the subtle hints I give him (buying him his own "manly" moisturiser or lip balm) but he hates it when I nag him to use products to look after his skin. And then he complains about wrinkles and dry skin! The only progress I've made so far is getting him to use pore strips every 3 months. He seems to be fascinated and amazed with all the gunk that comes out of his nose!!!

Yes he surprised me a few years back when BH had a Nivea for men trial. He really enjoyed the pampering

I wish I could get my brother to use a moisturiser. When he's stressed his psoriasis flares up and his forehead just looks red, dry and painful.

I wish he cleansed his face more - he's always complaining about breakouts and you wonder why!

There's a really fine line here: you'd be up in arms if he said you should shave your legs more often, or wax your moustache. If a man's got BO I'll tell him (I told a stranger today!) If a man's not fussy about sunblock, I'll tell him because Aussies die from being slack about sunblock. All else, I suggest ONCE then drop it, depending on how it's taken.

Mine keeps it pretty neat although he doesn't use any products except his shaving stuff. Whatever he's happy with :)

My husband isn't into grooming at all. I have to encourage (ummm nag) him to use a facial scrub and moisturiser.

Maybe I should get my man some of that shampoo in hair colour stuff, just for fun!

My hubby is pretty good with his grooming. :-) Must be from Army days :-)
I didn't know there was a man size nail clipper though.
