If you’ve been wondering whether you should dye your hair pink, JLo just gave you another compelling reason.
The singer and JLo Beauty founder traded in her signature bronde for a pastel pink, as revealed via hairstylist Chris Appleton’s Instagram.
Now, our first thought when it comes to colourful hair transformations like this is of course: is it a wig?
And gosh, it is damn hard to tell.
Her roots are left dark, which creates a grown-out effect that suggests there could be an element of real to it. We also love how some lighter pastel pink highlights are interwoven with darker to create dimension — this is how to do pink hair people.
Of course, this isn’t the first time JLo has been total #hairgoals. Remember that Super Bowl performance blowout? Or how she all got us hooked on the glass hair trend? All the work of Appleton too, of course.
Thinking of following in JLo’s pink hair footsteps?
Find your pefect pink
This shade of fairy floss looks stunning on JLo, but there’s a whole spectrum of pink to choose from and customise. We’re huge fans of rose gold hair. Plus, if you don’t want to bleach from root to tip, pink balayage is also an option.
Protect your hair health
If you need to lighten your hair first in order to turn it pink, make sure to fill your routine with strengthening and repairing hair products. You may also find your hair becomes drier and experiences a change in texture as a result. A hair oil will become your new styling BFF.
