Ah, humidity. The tricky, tempermental bastard that erases all the hardwork of our haircare routines, because moisturise in the air = total hair havoc.
Luckily, the hair industry heard our cries for help, and answered with products that help us smooth down our stressed strands.
So the next time the muggy monster is in town, try these on for size…

Does your hair struggle in the humidity?
Humidity has always played havoc with my hair. I dont mind when I'm on holidays and can just twist and pull up it up in a clip but for a dressier evening look I rely on oils, specific shampoo and conditioner and my trusty straightener! It's alot of work.
My hair looks awful in humidity so I just put it back in a bun or a sleek ponytail and use some hairspray to keep it all in place
Fortunately humidity doesn't affect my hair. My daughter has extremely frizzy, curly hair and needs the oils and products to keep her hair under control.
I do feel my hair goes limp and gross in high humidity and I feel like I need a good hair cut so bad just to make it feel more normal. I know it's just the humidity though wrecking havock!
Leave in conditioners usually work well in smoothing my hair. As beautiful as the silk turban looks I think my hair would end up looking worse after a night of wearing that
My hair and humidity are just not friends. I sometimes end up looking like a frizz ball. I have very fine fair. I love Eleven Australia Miracle Hair Treatment. It does seem to help. I also love Living Proof No Frizz Instant De Frizzer hair spray (Mecca). It’s available in a small can for your handbag too! If I style my hair and use this it usually does the trick for me. But for the really really super humid days I just tie it up.
Even with Argan Oil my hair still plays up with humidity unfortunately, can really get you down when it looked perfect when you went out but not when you get home, due to humidity.
Ugh yes humidity is the worst!! Turns my hair into a lank frizz ball =( lots of leave ins and oil based treatments help to somewhat keep it moderately tame
Humidity and my hair are not friends at all. Even a ponytail is a a wild mess when it is freshly washed. Lucky for leave ins and heavy conditioning treatments help but I wouldn't dream of trying to straighten it.
The Slip Hair Turban looks so deluxe. Want it!
This is amazing for summer
Humidity does turn my tresses into lanky, oily locks but it doesn't really bother me. My skin looks better though.
Love humidity, good for skin. Puffy hair, ah well hehe…I do use serums and haircare that makes my hair look sleek(ish). Also wearing dutch braids to hold finest smallest hairs in place. Or a bun.
Warning: does not stay on the head for long. Elastics will loosen after a short period of time and turban will slip off your head in no time. And be completely useless unless you invest into regular new band stitching. They only stay on the head for a month or two of use. And even then slip of the head when tossing and turning. Wish there is one that stays on the head and lasts at least a year.
Oh, and summer days, heloooo sweating and heat! Heat gets trapped in there and you get up with sticky scalp and hair that was steaming all night.
Very humid, and my hair is quite oily now
This is plait or bun weather! I don't want my hair on the back of my sweaty neck.
I usually plait my hair to sleep – & somehow it still ends up knotty! I don't think that silk turban would stay on when I breakdance on my head in my sleep. (Spinning on my head in my sleep is the only logical explanation for HOW knotty & messy my hair is in the mornings.)
The out of control heat here in QLD has been driving me crazy. There is no way that I can not wash my hair daily. My scalp is sweating way too much. Im really looking forward to some cooler weather.
I'm frizzy mainly on one side but it doesn't seem to be related to humidity (although I'm sure that doesn't help). I blame 40 years of colouring and perms (though it's over 20 years since my last one of those!). I've tried the Frizz ease to no effect but I should investigate all my stash to see if there is anything else there. My hair is fine so I can't use anything to heavy or it looks like I've showered under an oil can (slight exaggeration but I'm sure you know what I mean).
My hair is always frizzy so I have to use products to tame it. Humidity is killer for me.
I'm surprised the living proof one didn't get a mention… It's great!
I must look into one of these products because my hair is terrible with the humidity!
I can't stand my hair down when the weather is hot and humid
My hair is pretty frizzy most of the time, I usually avoid serums because they contain silicones.
I hate humidity. I find a silk turban does help. I would like to try the KMS product mentioned above.
I don’t use a lot of dry shampoo but the defrizz one has got my attention.
Humidity is terrible at the moment where I live.
Sleeping with a turban is an interesting idea! It’s a bit pricey though – I’d love to read some reviews.
Sheesh I don't think any of these would control my frizz on a humid day ha!
My hair has been up most of this summer, it's too hot otherwise. These all sound great for my dry hair
I think I'm going to have to go shopping. I hate my frizzy curly hair and I struggle to bring myself to straighten or style it knowing it will all be undone in 10mins. Would love to put some of these products to the test and actually feel good about my hair no matter the weather.
My hair goes flat and gross too when it's humid so frizz free products aren't suitable for me as my hair is oily not frizzy.
Batiste is such a great company with their dry shampoos I love them so much and especially the little ravel sizes they have
Can I buy them all?
I am definetly going to try this.
Some good ideas for keeping the frizz under control. I particularly like the idea of the Goldwell Kerasilk Spray.
Justice hair products are great! It’s worth going out of your way to find a Just Cuts salon to buy them from.
Yes my hair struggles big time in humidity. I usually just slick it up into a bun on hot days.
I want that Slip Turban!
OMG the silk hair turban! Want! I also love Argan oil for hair.
Wouldn’t mind trying the Wella frizz control cream. I love Wella products. They always have the best scent.
oooh yes it does! Big time. I turn into a puff ball
Sure does. Summer sucks for my hair but my skin looks a lot better
I don’t even bother curling or straightening my hair when it’s humid. Just a sleek bun with lots of hairspray
the bun would be a good idea for me too – my hair doesn’t hold curl at all in damp weather
sensible
My hair struggles with frizziness all the time! , unfortunately too many smoothing products contain film-forming ingredients that I want to avoid in haircare. I have come to accept that no matter how well I treat it my hair will always have some frizz.
Great product recs!
One of my pet hates is humidity. My hair is like a barometer, as soon as there is some humidity in the air it starts to frizz. When it’s really high humidity it looks like I have a public hair helmet on my head.
My hair goes deader straighter and limp – oh so limp – in humid weather. None of this lovely curlier hair for me – my daughter’s curls get so bouncy and springy in the damp weather – she is so lucky!
Yes my hair gets limper & more flyaway in the humidity. I don’t really do much for it other than try to keep it slicked back. It’s annoying, but there’s not much I can do about it I feel (especially since I’ve got finer hair & overloading it with product makes it look limp).
I use mists or dry conditioners. Also just tend to have my hair up with a claw clip.
My hair hates humidity and is like a barometer, once the humidity level rises, so does the frizz in my hair.
