Did you know that Heidi Klum is 41 years old?
I practically fell off my chair when I heard. I mean, I’m 15 years her junior and look nowhere near as good as the Project Runway host.
Her look, albeit helped by a team of experts, is flawless – and I think it has a lot to do with the way Heidi wears her strands. Take her recent look at the Emmys, for example; her soft waves are easy and effortless without screaming ‘look at me!’. It doesn’t look as though she’s been struggling with a curling tong for the better part of a day, or that she’s going for the big and bouncy waves that many younger A-listers have been sporting recently.
We caught up with Kobi Bokshish from the Paul Mitchell Artistic Team to discover exactly how you recreate these soft Hollywood waves at home.
Step 1: Lightly spray your hair with Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger HydroCream Whipand blow dry until bone dry.
Step 2: Create a clean, straight center part.
Step 3: Section the hair into one-inch sections and spritz with a heat-defence spray (we love Dove Heat Defence Therapy Heat Activated Protect & Shine Mist.)
Step 4: Starting from the nape of your neck, curl each section with a conical wand, winding hair from roots to ends. bh loves muk Curl Stick.
Step 5: Hold each curl for 10 seconds and release. Continue around your whole head until all the hair has been curled.
Step 6: Using your fingers, gently loosen the curls into soft waves, running your fingers from roots to ends.
Step 7: Using a small-tooth tail comb (we like Lady Jayne Two-Tone Tail Comb), gently comb out curls at the top crown section to create a beautiful smooth finish, being careful not to disturbing the curls in the lengths of the hair.
Step 8: Lightly spray with Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Texturizing Sea Spray to finish.
