I left the office in a flurry yesterday, jetting back to my pad, as it was the night of my 16-year-old sister’s school formal. She had volunteered to host the pre-party at our house (joy!) and I just knew it would be utter chaos.
I walked in to find 20-plus teenage girls, air kissing between shrieks and giggles, while their so-out-of-their-depth dates slumped around the food in the corner, avoiding the parents at all costs.
I was greeted by my sister, who looked adorable, I mean really gorgeous in a black embellished dress, smudge-free tan and perfect make-up, but her face told me she didn’t see the same image I did.
She was borderline hysterical, sobbing that her hair was plain and average with ‘totally unexciting waves’. It was time to call in some reinforcements. I quickly got rid of any cried-out mascara with my trusty Jane Iredale Dot-the-I make-up remover buds, before grabbing my Scunci No Slip Grip Bobby Pins and twirling her curled locks so that they cascaded over her left shoulder – a simple, yet chic alternative to plain waves. A spritz of Garnier Fructis Style Elastic Fix Powerspray and a bit of jzooshing ensured lasting height. How have you saved a similar hair mishap?
