So Botox for your hair is now a thing…

So, we’ve probably all heard of women getting Botox to zap wrinkles, mend migraines and stop excessive sweating, but now, they’re using it to prolong the life of their blow-dries, too.
Come again?
According to Yahoo Beauty, women are getting Botox injected into their scalps so they can exercise without ending up with sweaty, frizzy strands.
Dermatologist Patricia Wexler says the procedure works to “inhibit the eccrine glands”, meaning the patient is likely to experience less frizz and may find they don’t have to wash their hair as often.
“It has few side effects if given in a safe dilution and dose,” she explains. “It should be discriminately placed along the hairline and frontal area where frizz is most prominent.”
This may seem like the most bizarre use of Botox, but just when we thought we’d heard it all, we came across this fun fact: women in the UK are reportedly injecting it into their calves to make their boots fit better. Say whaaat?!
Given the average cost of treatment is well into the thousands-of-dollars, we’ll stick to dry shampoo, frizz fighters and just washing our hair post-workout, thanks.
Would you get Botox to extend the life of your blow-dry?

Bejeezus what on earth?! I've never personally thought of getting Botox for my face, let alone for my scalp!

I do know some people use it under their arms to stop excessive sweating, so I guess it is a progression from this, but seems a bit extreme. Just use dry shampoo instead!

It's really a weird thing that some people are willing to get toxins injected into them (and into their head at that!!) outchies and outchies again possibly for the future outcome of this poison being put into their human body.....I'm obviously not a personal fan but hey, if it makes you happy................

I have always wanted to use botox for my wrinkles but for my hair? That sounds really over the top.

So is it essentially helping with sweating or just from your hair producing too much oil? Either way, it's not something I would do.

Crazy idea. I can't see anybody doing this.

Oh My God! Definitely extreme. That can't be that good for you in the long term regardless if there are few side effects and all just to save washing their hair. Silly.

Oh my god, that can't be good for the brain. Hopefully there aren't any huge long-term side effects for the people who've gone and done this already.

Wow this is just a bit extreme. I would not do this. Would love a longer lasting blow dry but I would rather wash my hair than go through that pain.

Even if I did get a blow dry, I wouldn't go to the extreme of injecting botox to make it last. I wouldn't have guessed that it would help with frizzy hair. I think some people have too much money to play with, but each to their own, lol
