So Botox for your hair is now a thing…

So, we’ve probably all heard of women getting Botox to zap wrinkles, mend migraines and stop excessive sweating, but now, they’re using it to prolong the life of their blow-dries, too.
Come again?
According to Yahoo Beauty, women are getting Botox injected into their scalps so they can exercise without ending up with sweaty, frizzy strands.
Dermatologist Patricia Wexler says the procedure works to “inhibit the eccrine glands”, meaning the patient is likely to experience less frizz and may find they don’t have to wash their hair as often.
“It has few side effects if given in a safe dilution and dose,” she explains. “It should be discriminately placed along the hairline and frontal area where frizz is most prominent.”
This may seem like the most bizarre use of Botox, but just when we thought we’d heard it all, we came across this fun fact: women in the UK are reportedly injecting it into their calves to make their boots fit better. Say whaaat?!
Given the average cost of treatment is well into the thousands-of-dollars, we’ll stick to dry shampoo, frizz fighters and just washing our hair post-workout, thanks.
Would you get Botox to extend the life of your blow-dry?

This sounds sooo wrong, would never ever do this. Hair treatments are obviously an easier and more realistic approach if you have problems. Definitely no Botox.

I would not use Botox anywhere on my body, even though many people claim that it is supposedly safe.

wow. that's commitment to a look.
I do hate that I am prone to a sweaty head when working out, but I think I'll just stick with using a squirt of dry shampoo to freshen up than spending thousands on injecting botox.

botox on the head, really? it is the first time i've heard of it that it. I wouldn't go do that though as sweating is actually good for pores.

Wow! I think I've heard it all now. I'm not that vain to use Botox for my face or hair. Dry shampoo works really well and it's quick and cheap!

I wouldn't use botox for anything. People can be so ridiculous!

I'll put up with my frizz than use a Botox treatment for my hair! I'm all for using botox for those with medical conditions.

Oh wow! What else will people come up with? I laughed out loud when I read that women in the UK are getting their calves injected to make their boots fit better. Oh dear.

Even though I have an oily scalp & my blow-dries don't tend to go the distance, I'd rather wash my hair than go & get Botox. That's just crazy!

This sounds a little bit ridiculous - an expensive procedure to simply prolong their hair so that it doesn't get frizzy at the gym? Hmm.. hope there's no long term damage!

How ridiculous? Botox is good for some things (children with various disabilities have greatly benefited from it as have some with migraines) but to stop your scalp from perspiring! C'mon. Who does that?

This is the most silly use of Botox than i have ever heard. As i have excess sweating on my face; and i thought botox would fix that but the sweat glans for your face are in your throat, right near the Vocal Chords and also near the thyroid gland. So i dont fully understand this idea at all.

So I am terrified of needles anyway - but to spend thousands of dollars to prolong a blow try is truly ridiculous. Some people have waaaaay too much money.

Having just had a dose of Botox for my migraines and now suffering from the side effects that go with it, I would think clean hair would win over every time.

sorry I am no good with needles and it would hurt

This isn't for me. If I'm sweating then I will be showering. It's not difficult to wash my hair at same time!

Hey, if it works, it works! Lol! I wouldn't go that far, but extending my hair's life would be nice. Working out kills it.

In most instances I’m not even willing to go the extent of doing a blow dry (dries my hair) much less using botox to make it last. Crikey.

This is botulism toxin! I'm not having it anywhere thanks! This is something Michael Jackson would have done. That's enough of a warning isn't it?
