So Botox for your hair is now a thing…

So, we’ve probably all heard of women getting Botox to zap wrinkles, mend migraines and stop excessive sweating, but now, they’re using it to prolong the life of their blow-dries, too.
Come again?
According to Yahoo Beauty, women are getting Botox injected into their scalps so they can exercise without ending up with sweaty, frizzy strands.
Dermatologist Patricia Wexler says the procedure works to “inhibit the eccrine glands”, meaning the patient is likely to experience less frizz and may find they don’t have to wash their hair as often.
“It has few side effects if given in a safe dilution and dose,” she explains. “It should be discriminately placed along the hairline and frontal area where frizz is most prominent.”
This may seem like the most bizarre use of Botox, but just when we thought we’d heard it all, we came across this fun fact: women in the UK are reportedly injecting it into their calves to make their boots fit better. Say whaaat?!
Given the average cost of treatment is well into the thousands-of-dollars, we’ll stick to dry shampoo, frizz fighters and just washing our hair post-workout, thanks.
Would you get Botox to extend the life of your blow-dry?

Luckily I don’t get a sweaty scalp when I exercise. Even if I did, I’m not sure I would go this far to stop it!

I get Botox for cerebral palsy...
I get its legitimate use for excessive armpit sweating too.
But this? This is ridiculous!!!!

No way and this extreme is not beauty any more. Beauty should be natural and comfortable not suppressing and distressing your body.

It took me a while to get my head around botox for migraines (no pun intended), however botox for hair?! This is a bit too much, yes?

Interesting article but no thanks, no botox for me. I rather age gracefully.

I'm actually having trouble comprehending how people can go to THAT extent... first thing I'd want to do after the gym is shower, not worry about how my hair looks. I think they care a little too much about vanity.

I can't see random needles but require Botox to be injected in the soles of my feet and palms of my hand.
I dread it every time- so painful but ultimately beneficial for my cerebral palsy!
