Scientists discover the blonde hair gene
If you’ve ever been called a ‘dumb blonde’, then this latest discovery will make you very happy. Scientists in the US have discovered the blonde gene - and it has no relevance to intelligence levels!
The gene is called the KITLG gene, and without getting into too much scientific detail, a single letter change in the DNA code makes the difference between being a blonde or a brunette. But that’s where the difference stops - the gene doesn’t affect eye colour, skin tone or even intelligence.
Which means, having blonde hair doesn’t have to do with anything but the colour of your strands. Throw that in your brother’s/sister’s/best friend’s face!
