Foods for longer hair

Whether you’re recovering from a disastrous haircut or lusting after Rapunzel-like locks for your wedding, waiting for your hair to grow can feel like an eternity. But according to laurenconrad.com, you can speed up the process by incorporating certain foods into your diet. It’s worth a try, right? Kick-start the growth spurt by adding these to your grocery list.
#1 Leafy greens
Veggies like kale, spinach and swiss chard are chock-full of nutrients that not only promote healthy hair growth, but also stronger nails and clearer skin. If you’re struggling to fit more greens in your diet, try throwing them into a delicious green smoothie recipe for breakfast.
#2 Salmon and halibut
We already know and love salmon for its omega-3 fatty acids, but what is this halibut, you ask? Well, it’s a fish that contains similar nutrients, as well as a high amount of biotin. The protein and vitamin D in both types of fish will help your hair to grow, while the good fats will make it as shiny as a model’s in a shampoo commercial.
#3 Walnuts and almonds
Yep, this healthy snack option also works wonders for your hair. Walnuts and almonds contain vitamin E and biotin, both of which work to protect cells from damage. That’s why hair products like Wella System Professional SP Luxe Oil Reconstructive Elixir feature almond oil as an ingredient.

I tried to grow my hair long for many years, but I could never get it past a certain point. Then it happened without me even trying; but it was from being so ill that I couldn't get to a hairdresser for more than a year.

I eat these foods on a regular basis, but I don't really notice too much of a difference in my hair yet. Also, I've heard ingesting a tablespoon of coconut oil works wonders for your hair too

I'm currently trying to grow mine but it never seems to get past a certain length. I've no idea if that's normal or not (off to Google it!)
