Botox blow-dry anyone?

According to the gals about town – the ones that spend more time sat in the hairdresser’s chair than they do in their own arm chair – there’s a treatment on the menu that might just transform your frizzy-haired world.
A single salon session can leave you with silky straight locks for an entire three months. Uh huh, you heard right. Coined ‘botox for hair’, this hair-straightening treatment will have you looking sleeker than a screen siren quick sharpish.
Also know as Latino Hair Straightening, this protein-based hair process irons out the hair without a straightener in sight and without damaging the texture, leaving hair manageable and, most importantly, super sleek for three to four months.
Suitable for all hair types, it actually leaves the hair looking glossier than before and totally frizz-free: no amount of rain, sweat or heat will bring on the frizzies!
Bid bad hair days adieu.
Would you fork out $300-$400 to say farewell to frizzy hair?

I have done it once (before it was banned, but not here yet!). After finding out it's toxicity the company itself has banned the procedure. It is still done, maybe they switched the harmful ingredients. One of them is/was formaldehyde, severe poison, not just for the customer, but the hairdresser (even worse). I have to admit my hair looked just fabulous!!!

I don't need these on my super fine hair that I have to start the hairdryer immediately after washing...as in within minutes or my fine hair is dry already in weird and whacky directions. My hair takes about 5 maybe 7 mins to blow dry from soaking wet to dry...that's how fine it is!!

I have had a similar sounding treatment a few years ago ( I can't remember the name but it was a Keratin based treatment) I was very disappointed with the results. My hair was a bit shinier and the curl somewhat relaxed but certainly not straight. I would be very hesitant to try something like this again.

Sounds great but its a lot of money for the time it lasts. This would be about $1,200 for a year alone (if you got it done every 3 months for $300) plus I get my hair dyed in a salon about that often. It's not affordable.

Do not go to a chain salon where they will probably get an apprentice to do it, the salon i went to took 4 hours and very pedantic 1 hour 50 minutes to just straighten it. Do not go to chain salons in shopping centres where they will rush you through, you must allow 4 hours if you have thick frizzy curly hair like me. I am 110% pleased and yes will do it again as soon as i notice it washing out.

I had this done in mid october in new farm in brisbane, it is worth ever cent. I have had my hair coloured twice since then and it has cut down the usual hairdresser costs because after a colour and trim all i need is a blast dry no GHD at all so dont pay for that. I paid $350.00 plus at home products but they are only shampoos and conditioners which are no more expensive than my usual. I have very thick wire like FRIZZ hair which would take me 20 minutes to blast dry and another 45 minutes to GHD in sections. No word of a lie i wash my hair blast dry in 15 (it doesnt seem to hold water once treated with the keratin) I only spend between 5 and 10 minutes using a GHD just to make it look polished mainly on the layers ends. Honestly my usual hairdresser does not do the keratin treatment so i went elsewhere and my hairdresser said it would be a waste of money. When i was due for a colour 6 weeks later i went back to my usual hairdresser and she was so shocked how great my hair was after coloring an a quick blast dry, so shocked that she has booked into the salon in New Farm where i had it done to get the treatment for herself. Worth every single penny just make sure you go to a good salon as it is only as good as the person applying it, the results and outcome are all dependent on the initial straightening and the first 3 days after care (you can not wash your hair for 3 days)

Unfortunately $300 is a little beyond my haircare budget. It sounds lovely though. =(

I've heard about this and it sounds nearly perfect! This is the one you can even get on blonde hair right? The only problem is, apparently it lasts 3-4 months only if you wash it every 4 days... YUCK! If it lasted that long no matter how much you washed it I would do it though... maybe for holidays or something...
