The best hairdryer for a smooth blowdry
Noticing your hair is a little on the damaged side? Perhaps it’s lost shine, looks dull, frizzy and feels brittle? Well believe it or not, it might not be down to wrong products or environmental trauma; have you ever considered that your hairdryer might be to blame?
Sure, all hairdryers dry your hair - no problem, but there’s more to it than that. While older or simple model hairdryers will do the job, they might actually be having negative effects on your strands. Need proof? We put the Philips PRO Dryer up against an older hairdryer and the difference in results speaks for itself.
Here are the reasons why making the investment and switching to a Philips PRO Dryer is the answer to healthier, smoother hair:
SPEED
Reaching speeds of up to 110km/hr, the Philips PRO Dryer will dry your hair quickly and effectively, without causing damage or exacerbating pre-existing hair concerns.
SETTINGS
The Philips PRO Dryer has multiple speed and heat settings to help you achieve salon-worthy results, recognising that different hair types have different needs.
Featuring two speed settings, you can use ‘gentle’ for fine hair, or ‘strong’ for thicker hair, giving you the best result possible.
Three heat settings also allow for hair to be dried according to your needs. ‘Hot’ enables hair to dry quickly, ‘thermo-protect’ dries hair at a constant, damage protecting temperature, and ‘cool care’ gently dries, locking in shine.
Once your hair is dry, the ‘cold shot’ button seals your hair cuticles, locking in shine and providing a longer-lasting result.
Lastly, what really sets the Philips PRO Dryer apart from other hairdryers is the unique and innovative ‘style & protect’ concentrator feature - a valve which opens when your hair starts to get too hot, allowing for styling to continue without the risk of overheating and damage.
SMOOTHNESS
When using the Philips PRO Dryer, ions are automatically released and work to reduce frizz and keep the overall condition of your hair healthy.
What do you think of the features of the Philips PRO Dryer? Is it time for you to upgrade your hairdryer?

The hair dryer can make a real difference. The most important thing is having enough power. But technique is also important and you need to make sure it doesn't dry your hair out when you use it. My favourite ones are the VS sassoon ones and I find that the GDH ones definitely dry your hair out quite a bit. Also make sure you put the head part on their otherwise your hair will be frizzy!!

Wow Deb, your mother's old dryer is even older than mine, and mine is sticky! Sticky from the rubber disintegrating. It's gross!
Methinks it's time for me to get a new dryer.

Love Philips products but doing a video comparing it to an old hairdryer is silly tbh.

I don't use my hair dryer often but when I do I always tip my head upside down - no longer! Thanks BH!

I upgraded my hair dryer not too long ago, but for the life of me I can't remember where the nozzle went.

I am really loving the Vidal Sassoon hairdryer which was part of my Best in Beauty prize a while ago. However, the hairdryer featured in this article looks really good.

My hair dryer is one of those things I neglect to replace. My hairdryer should have gone to the bin a year a go. Great review and results.
