Tools for women who can't style their hair

Attention to the style challenged!
Hands up if your curls end up looking like a limp puppy dog’s tail, as opposed to the glamorous waves of a Hollywood star. Keep them up if you forgo the latest trends for a ponytail every morning because it’s just too easy.
Well, there is hope.
We’ve rounded up the tools that make styling your hair a breeze. From defined waves, to the perfect topknot and even an on-trend fishtail braid, you’ll never have a boring hair day again. And the greatest part? They all require minimal skill and effort.
#1: For waves…
Defined waves are not as easy to achieve as YouTube hair tutorials would have you think. That is, of course, until you try the VS Sassoon Deep Retro Glam. The triple barrel styler gives you waves in a matter of seconds. It requires no twisting and no curling. Simply place your hair between the two tongs, like you would a straightener, and release for glamorous waves. It will make you wonder why you ever spent hours trying to use your straightener as a curler.
#2: For the perfect topknot…
Topknots can often go oh-so-very wrong. To avoid looking like you’ve scooped your hair off your face for an early morning gym class, why not try a hair donut? It helps create a perfectly shaped bun. We recommend the Lady Jayne Bun Styl’r Kit. It contains a donut, a hair elastic, five bobby pins and a lookbook for inspiration.
#3: For a fishtail braid…
Fishtail braids are everywhere at the moment – throughout blogs, magazines and on celebrities. To stay on-trend, and to add a little something extra to a low pony, give one a go. The Scunci Criss Crosser Tool helps create a fishtail braid with ease. Even those who can’t plait will come out with a neat braid. Divide your hair into two equal sections, and thread through the tool. Once finished, we recommend messing it up a little for a more relaxed look.
#4 For everything…
A hair-dryer, straightener and brush in one, I hear you ask? No, you haven’t wandered off into an extravagant fantasy. The Philips ProCare AirStyler is just that. With five attachments, including a nozzle, retractable bristle brush, paddle straightening brush, thermobrush and volumizer, the hot hair styler creates volume, body, waves and texture. It’s got everything you need to create the style you want.
Have you ever used any of these tools? What’s your go-to style for days when you just can’t be bothered?

The Phillips multi-tool air styler is my saviour. I've never managed to work a hair dryer and a brush at the same time, so this is perfect. My folks had a big old clunky hair dryer with multiple attachments when I was a kid and one of them was a brush attachment. It was the only thing that dried and tamed my ridiculously thick, long, coarse textured hair. But it eventually died (I think it was from the 1960s) and I went au naturale for about 25 years because every other dryer I tried just made things worse (or my lack of skill with them did). When I spotted the Phillips one on the shelf in Myer one day I had to have it, and I've never regretted that decision.

Does the fish tail tool work for a fish tail French braid? I'd be interested in trying that out!

I really want to try the Phillips ProCare AirStyler. I saw it at a shop recently and thought "Yes, I must have you. One day. Soon!" but resisted the urge to buy it.

I'm so uncoordinated when it comes to styling my hair, but this baby saved me. I can actually dry and straighten my hair without getting all tied up in knots (my hair or the appliances) or looking like I've just plugged myself into an electric socket. If you see it again when you have the money or it's on sale, definitely do yourself a favour.

My magic tool that works wonders is GHD wide strainghtener. I have very long, fine, frizz prone hair (very humid here) in Australia, and in a few minutes, mess becomes glam, healthy silk

some waves in my hair would be nice...better than fizz!! Recently I have stopped using my GHD and gone back to the old fashioned hair dry :)

The Phillips Airstyler looks amazing! I've never tried that one and it sounds great for adding natural looking volume to the roots - just what my hair needs. To get volume at the roots I currently use an Aveda Invati serum stuff just on my roots and also sometimes dry shampoo at the roots.

I've been looking at the InStyler Ceramic Styling Shells infomercials, and it looks tempting, but I need to do some research on it first.

OMG the VS Sassoon curler sounds just like what I need! I usually wear my hair out, but I have naturally straight hair and not enough time (or know-how) in the mornings to curl my hair. I need something simple and quick, and this fits the bill!

I need the tool for those who can't curl their hair. I have a curling iron and still can't do it. I think I'm uncoordinated lol.

I would love to check out some of these products when I let my hair grow a little. I love the idea of the AirStyler. I'm getting better at using my GHD and my blow drying has improved (thanks to Cedel products). I'm no where near happy with what I can do.
