IF YOU HAVE COOL-TONED SKIN…

This means you have pink and blue undertones.

MOST SUITED TO: Your skin’s cool undertone is flattered best by hair colours such as ash blonde, burgundy or even blue black.

AVOID: Tones such as copper, orange and warm yellow, which are less flattering to your skin tone.

PRO TIP: Before you make a drastic change to your hair colour, consider that it could potentially affect your make-up and clothing choices.

IF YOU HAVE WARM-TONED SKIN…

This means you have yellow or golden undertones.

MOST SUITED TO: Your skin’s warm undertone is flattered best by hair colours that have a hint of honey. Copper, strawberry blonde, caramel brown, golden blondes and rich reds are best suited to you.

AVOID: Tones such as ash, or hues with blue or green underlying pigments, which are less flattering to your skin tone.

PRO TIP: If you want a more natural-looking change, Grant recommends staying within two shades of your natural hair colour for the best result.

IF YOU’RE NOT SURE…

Despite what you might think, it’s actually really easy to determine your skin tone. Here are three helpful tips from Grant that will help determine whether you are warm- or cool-toned.

TIP #1
Look at the veins on the inside of your wrists. If you have a green-tinge to your veins, then you have a warm skin tone. If you have a blue tinge, then you have a cool skin tone.

TIP #2
The colours you tend to wear can help determine your skin tone. If you find colours such as orange and red flattering to your skin tone, you have a warm skin tone. If you find blue more flattering, then you have a cool skin tone.

TIP #3
If you find gold jewellery more flattering to your skin tone, then you have a warm skin tone. If you find silver jewellery more flattering, then you have a cool skin tone.
