I’ve never used a root retoucher before and I was really excited to try this. What’s an easy way to keep your look fresh between salon visits! and sadly I am more than overdue at the salon.

When I got the package I was even more excited. The bottle is compact and easy enough to throw in your bag, but it also looks good. I got the blonde since I’m a medium blonde so it was a lux gold and and black label.

Application was easy enough. Shake the bottle and spray (at least that’s what I think you’re meant to do~ there were no instructions). The bottle has a applicator tip to make it easy to do concentrated areas.

I did find it a little laborious to do my whole head but for up do’s it was perfect. It also worked kind of like a dry shampoo and didn’t make my hair overly greasy.

On the downside I did find my use limited since the color was considerably dark than my hair so actually made my roots stand out more. But when I brushed it through and has my hair in a bun it works.

Schwarzkopf root retoucher comes in a 70g spray can for temporary root cover it can be used up to 25 times. I got the colour black, it was a great colour match.

Definately shake before use, the spray can has a thin nosel making it easy to apply on the roots it does dry pretty fast and covers up the grey instantly and it has a good coverage.

It is best to use it outdoor with a mirror as it abit smelly like usual hair dye smell. It washes off straight away in the shower when shampoo is used, not leaving any residue, i didnt find that it stained any clothing.

Is it handy for a quick spray and out the door, it can last longer if you wash your hair 2 or 3 days after applying the root retoucher, Didnt have any issues using this root retoucher i am happy with the results.

I was excited to be part of the Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher trial because sometimes I just can’t get to a hair appointment or colour my hair at home and so my roots will be showing and I won’t feel as confident.

I am a blonde so I picked the dark blonde shade. It’s a bit darker than my hair colour, but when you come it through your hair it blends in fairly well. It’s very simple, quick and easy to use. You simply shake well then hold and spray onto the parts of your hair that need a touch up. Then I would wait a moment and comb or brush my hair throughout. The product blends really well and does a great job of covering regrowth.

It feels fairly natural in my hair, and the texture isn’t chalky/or drying which is usually one of concerns when using root retoucher products similar to this one. Being able to use a root retoucher is fantastic. Going to the hairdresser once a month or dying my hair once a month has become a costly process, and the root retoucher lets me stretch out my colouring a bit longer. It’s also so much gentler on the hair than constant hair colour.

It can be a bit messy if some of the product drops onto your bathroom vanity, and I found that it could be hard to clean if you didn’t wipe it off immediately. Likewise if it’s on your face, just rub away, then you’re all set to go and no one will even know you have used a root retoucher.

The Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher is quick and easy to use, and just perfect when you’re in between salon appointments or home hair dye jobs.

I was sent the Schwarzhopf Root Retoucher as part of the trial team. I have quite a few grey hairs on the top of my forehead area, but none elsewhere. I was excited to try this as I am self-conscious of my grey hairs as I'm 34. Also, being in a wheelchair, everyone looks down on my head and can see the greys peeking through my dark brown hair. I haven't tried a hair retouching spray, so I was very excited.

I was sent the shade Brown. I really like that on the side of the packaging is a colour matching guide, which tells you the shades that this spray will match. I thought it was a great touch. The product comes in an aerosol can with a fine nozzle to get precise sprays. The pressure in the product can be a bit much and messy at times, especially if you are trying to get a precise spot close to the hairline. The product feels like a dry shampoo, with the cold powdery texture on the head. Unfortunately it is not transfer-proof; I would continually get brown on my fingers when scratching an itch or putting my hair back in place. You really do need to apply it to styled hair, not style it once product is in. I would also recommend doing your hair before makeup, as I tried it once after applying my makeup and I had spots and visible areas of brown spray on my forehead, which did not brush away. I found that it covered my greys well and did not make my roots oily, which is a bonus.

I've been looking for a product like this for ages- for those occasions when you just don't have time to make it to the hairdresser, or don't want to do a full at home hair dye. This root retoucher spray is fantastic. I trialed the dark brown colour and it suited my hair colour really well. The spray is super easy and really fast to use- the nozzle is nice and fine which makes it great for root touch-ups. The spray dries naturally in your hair, you don't feel like you have paint in your hair and it doesn't feel crusty. Just make sure that you don't spray too close to your scalp or else the dye will end up on your skin and you'll have to get it off.
The packaging is sleek and simple. A nice, small black can with a small nozzle to apply the spray with. It should last around 25 applications which makes it affordable. Also, it will come out in the wash if you don't like it. It covered my regrowth instantly and I really enjoyed using it and will continue to use it in the future.

My hair is coloured brown, with natural hair colour in black and 20-40% grey depending on the area. I routinely use another retouch spray to cover my regrowth and grey hair in between permanent colouring.
The instructions are to hold the can upright, and spray from a distance of approximately 10 cm.
The shade Brown matches the colour of my hair. It covers both black regrowth and grey hair. When sprayed from a 10 cm-distance, the results look quite natural because it does not look too intense or overly powdery. It blends in with my natural hair colour very well. It is also not overly matte like some other sprays that I have used in the past. Overall, the coverage is good and and the colour is natural. However, I use it closer to my scalp (i.e. less than 10cm), I found that the colour can look quite solid and unnatural.
The product does transfer, so I would avoid touching my hair throughout the day. The transfer can be minimised by layering a fine mist of hairspray over where the product has been applied.
The only problem, which is also a major issue for me, is the amount of mess that it makes. No matter how I try (close to the scalp, far from the scalp, press down the spray softly or all the way, spray quickly or slowly), large droplets would come out from the bottle. Although using a towel on my shoulders can prevent the product from staining my clothes, they actually go a lot further than just on myself - they do go to the back of my bathroom and on the floor behind me. They can be easily removed if they land on the tiles but not if they get onto the grout (and they did!) - it's very frustrating as I couldn't clean them.
I have decided that I would not repurchase, despite really liking the actual product colour and coverage. The mess that it makes is not worth it, and it is not practical for me to cover all or my bathroom walls and floor every time I use it.
It is a shame because the product itself is great but the spraying mechanism is not.

I think the last root touch up product I tried was actually the kind that came in powder form, so it's nice to see that things have really evolved since then as those were very messy and a lot more time consuming to use. This however is fairly simple and straight forward. You just pick a colour that matches as close as you need it to (I believe the shade range is fairly limited at the minute) and then shake and spray. So I really can't complain as it does do what it says it should, basically.

I think the product is basically just like a coloured/tinted version of dry shampoo spray, and you can even already get dried shampoo that is coloured so this is sort of the specialist version. It is priced accordingly and seems a tiny bit steep when you consider for the same price you could buy a box dye instead. Another thing to keep in mind is that I don't believe it would actually last for 25 applications, something closer to 10-15 would be more accurate. But I suppose this would vary depending on regrowth/greys.

The biggest let down I suppose is that wherever you apply the root touch up, it imparts a matte finish, so if your hair was shiny, basically forget about it. So it is dulling, but I guess that is the nature of dry shampoo essentially.

I was lucky enough to receive this root retoucher to trial. I have never used this type of product before because I would normally colour my hair to hide the white hairs or I would try to just ignore the white hairs for as long as I could. I try not to colour my hair too often as it’s damaged already. This is where this root retoucher becomes very useful. It gives me an excuse to delay getting my hair dyed!

The bottle is probably a bit too big to put in my handbag but small enough to fit easily in a backpack if I ever need to bring it out for an emergency touchup. In saying that, I think most of the time I would just spray this on in the morning before I have any important meetings at work or other functions. The product lasts all day which is great! It’s also easy to wash off. I didn’t notice much of a scent from this product either.

This root retoucher is easy to use. The spray is accurate enough. It doesn’t spray all over the place. However, be careful of little splashes if u spray too much in one area. Take general precautions when using it - eg don’t wear a white top when spraying it on your hair, or have a towel over your shoulders to protect whatever top you are wearing.

I tried this product both on dry hair and on top of a hair product and it works either way. The coverage is sufficient for the purposes of the product. Don’t expect full coverage (like what you get if u dye your hair). It is fine just for a touch up.

When I recieved this in the mail I was very excited the packaging of the bottle was nice fresh and neat I immediately was intrigued by the spray applicator it looked like it would create no mess whilst spraying which I was correct about. The main criticism I have is that it came with absolutely no intstructions of the bottle of how to use: eg how far away to hold the can away from your head how long to spray for just general things on how to apply the product. I am a dark blonde and once applied to my roots it was extremely dark I would not say this was for a blonde shade whatsoever which I was dissapointed with. I really wanted this to match my roots well so I could wear it all day, not only did you not match or made my hair this gritty texture when I touched it made my hair uneasy to manage throughout the day and it trasnfers onto your fingers if you touch your acalp
