I used this product to darken up my roots. I have died my hair a darker brown than my natural hair so I got it in the dark brown shade. While it did not match my hair perfectly, it did do a decent job of darkening my roots so the regrowth isn't as noticeable..

The scent of the product is not overpowering and is quite pleasant. If you aren't careful when applying, this can really get everywhere. Make sure you shake well before use and don't go overboard with the application. Apply it little bit by little bit until you are happy with the coverage. The product dries quickly which is great- you don't have to wait too long before styling. It also stays put throughout the day, it doesn't migrate down onto the forehead like some other sprays can. It also washes out easily with a shampoo and condition.

I had never used a Root Retoucher before I received this product, so I was a little bit sceptical if I am honest. I have a few greys coming through at my roots which is why I was excited to try this product.

The 70g bottle is a perfect size and great for travel as well, with the packing being simple and sleek. I was pleasantly surprised by the smell as it didn't have an overpowered or chemical smell to it.

The spray dried naturally in my hair and didn't feel too heavy or chunky. Just make sure you don't hold the can too close to your scalp (or it may stain). Be mindful that you are wearing this product through the day especially if your hair gets wet or you are sweating at the gym etc. It also comes off on your fingers if you run your hands through your hair.

I believe it last around 25 applications, which is great value for such a small product. This product will always have a place in my beauty cabinet.

I have naturally very dark brown hair and regularly get my hair dyed with a full head of light blonde foils. I tried this Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher in the lightest shade "Dark Blonde".
If I purchased this in the future I would only do so if the product extends it's colour range as this shade was way too dark for my roots. It did lighten them a few shades by nowhere near enough to blend into my super light blonde foils.

The can is a good 70g and for around 25 applications is a pretty good price and I reckon you could probably stretch it out to about 30 applications depending on your regrowth length and completed hairstyle as you need to apply this is already styled hair for best results.

I have a few old towels I use when self tanning which I used to cover around my shoulders before applying this product. On the back of the can you can peel away easily the label to reveal instructions on how to use the product. It is pretty easy and quick to do.

You just aim the nozzle at your roots 10cm away or about half an arms length and gentle spray all around your hair line where you want the coverage. I do have quite a few greys and this covered them just as evenly as my roots. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the colour quickly covered my roots. It did take a few minutes to dry fully but once dry it didn't feel stiff or look wet or have that hairspray effected result as I had expected it to. More so I would describe this root retoucher spray as a dry spray rather than a wet one even though when you do spray it onto your hair it feels wet and VERY cold!

There is a bit of a strong chemical smell to this when you are spraying it around which might not be for everyone. I don't care about that though, I am more about results!

Overall I am impressed by this product, I have never used something like this before and liked how well it worked. The only downside was that is wasn't light enough for my hair. I would need at least 2-3 shades lighter in order for me to want to purchase it.

I was so excited to try Schwarzkopf root retoucher as I have lots of white hair. I got the shade Brown which perfectly matches my hair colour. The product comes in a round bottle with spray nozzle. It has strong smell but not overpowering.

According to the instruction, I need to shake it well before use. When I used it for the first time, I sprayed a lot and as a result it was all over my face. Next time, I was careful and I used some paper to protect my face and forehead. I also only used small amount and results were much better this time. This spray completely covers greys and white hair while the shade is perfect to blend in with my existing hair colour. It's formula is light weight and it does not feel thick or sticky. It really feels like I am using dry shampoo. In addition, my hair still looks shiny and silky. It lasts for the whole day without fading or transferring.

Overall, I am happy with this product, it is great for touchups and it is a must have item for busy mums like me.

The main problem I had with this product was that it doesn’t cover the grey at my temples. The hair is too sparse and fine for me to be able to use the product without spraying it all over my face. On the rest of my hair it works well, although the colour, dark brown, is very dark indeed. I would probably try the Brown shade next. The other issue is that the colour transfers onto my fingers if I touch my hair, and then onto my face or anything else I touch. This has happened with other root retouch products which is why I generally don’t buy them. This product doesn’t make my hair stiff or crunchy and it does cover greys in my centre part, so it is good to have on hand if I need something in an emergency. I would recommend it for an unexpected night out where you want to look your best. My hair was still easy to style and felt soft but the powder does transfer to the skin, pillow slip and anything it comes into contact with. It’s just something to be aware of when using the product. It washes out easily and doesn’t stain. I feel like it’s very handy but doesn’t address everything I need in a root touch up type product. I still need to find a brown mascara or similar to use with it. One of the better between-salon products I have tried.

This root retoucher is what I have been looking for for years!!! It is perfect for when you have a few random grey hair you want to cover up for a night out and you want to have your hair down. I found that this is a great product to temporarily cover the grey when I want to look my best and if I’ve got an inch or so of grey hair of regrowth. My regrowth is very close to the colour I dye my hair but I have a few pesky greys that I hate. It goes on easily, and you can even blend in with your finger tips. Some times I get a few splatters of the product onto my forehead, so I would recommend using the product before you do your makeup! However, any colour that gets on you forehead or hands can easily be wiped away. I found that it looks quite natural if you don’t oveeer do it, but there is no need to use too much anyway. I wish I had this product years ago for all those events where I wore my hair up in a ponytail to cover the greys..
The colour matches my dark brown hair, and I can see a it would match a few different shades if you blend it out a bit.

i received this product as part of BH trial team. the spray form make it easy to use on the go, without staining your hands. i don't have colored hair, but my mother does and she also had some white hair growing. for root retouch this is great, but i had some trouble with spraying on the individual white hairs. I would recommend using a stiff plastic sheet to cover face so it won't get stained.

it would be more economic to use this for retouch between hair dyes since going to hair salon can be money and time consuming, but in the end this was meant to be a temporary solution; if the retouch area is too large the difference in shade became more obvious and needed to be worked on a bit to blend in (i tested it on my cousin, whose hair dye was black too but not as dark as my mom's).

I was excited to try this as it is difficult to get to the hairdresser to touch up my hair when I have to. I chose the blonde one as my hair is naturally a lighter blonde but you can definitely notice the regrowth.

I found that on my first application I wasn't very careful and I didn't shake the can enough but The next time I used it I was more careful and it applied on well.

I thought it would be similar to hairspray and leave your hair feeling hard and straw-like but I didn't find that at all. I mainly used it when my hair was tied up and regrowth really obvious but it definitely worked having my hair out as well.

I found that it did colour my hair well but the colour was a bit off so it was a little bit obvious of the colour difference but I found it blended better when I applied with my hair out as supposed to tied up.

I've never used a root retouch product before, so I was happy to find that it was a simple enough process: aim and spray! The scent is not offensive, and the spray doesn't leave any apparent sticky or powdery residue . My hair is quite thin, and I was a bit afraid of spraying great dark splotches of colour onto my scalp, but I don't think this was a problem.
I have a few pesky grey hairs on my part line and close to the edge of my hairline, and I guess I was looking for a product that could help to conceal these without too much fuss. The downside for me was that because the greys are still (thankfully) few and far between, getting the right accuracy to cover those individual hairs was a bit of a task; more practice is needed.
But in principle, it's a product I will continue to use between colour treatments, as it's easy and convenient and quick.
