Does holographic hair foam really work?
Holographic hair foam has been hot property on social media for a while now, as has anything even remotely unicorn-inspired (Paris Hilton’s unicorn mist is now available at Chemist Warehouse, in case you were wondering!). We’ve been waiting almost a year for holographic hair foam to hit our shores and now that IGK haircare is available at Sephora, we finally got our hands on one!

The product is aptly called Foamo ($34, sephora.com.au) and it’s a temporary iridescent hair colour that changes with the reflection of light. It comes in two shades, Moonrock and Meteor, and we were lucky enough to try out the Moonrock shade, which shifts from pink to teal as your hair moves under the light.
While there’s lots of talk about holographic hair foam, there’s also some doubt as to whether it actually works – so we decided to put it to the test! Did it live up to our high expectations? Watch the video above to see bh’s Kate try it for the first time!
If you’re not sold on the holographic component but like the idea of experimenting with temporary colour, there’s still heaps of great options! We’re loving the Schwarzkopf LIVE Colour Spray – Candy Pink, L’Oréal Paris Colorista 1-Day Spray and Vixen Hair Colour Chalks.

Good that it just washes out. Very subtle.

I'm not sure effect is worth the cost judging by the video, or maybe it just doesnt show well... I do love the concept tho

How fun! I do find IGK is more marketed towards the young trendy instagram obssessed girls rather than people like me, but this is a fun product.

I've seen a similar product from Brite at the supermarket. I love using semi-permanent fun colours.

Love Holo but not a fan of the look of this irridescent hair foam.

I've seen this in Sephora (along with other IGK products), but didn't think it was for me. I do like the blue shimmer in the darker part of Kate's hair though. I couldn't really see the pink tbh.

I was thinking the same thing. I think I'd look ridiculous if I were to use it!

Hmmm, I think it kinda just made the hair look greasy...I saw a bit of the pink at the bottom but it really didn´t show up as much as I had been expecting. Sounded like a great idea though, but execution I´m not sure the product really lives up to the hype. Kate was great in the video though!! xx

Looks good but I'm afraid of ruining my foils. Its been such hard work to get them to the light shade they are now.

It's not a product I would use but it looks like a bit of fun for younger people who want something different.

Oh wow.....now that is very cool. I would love this sort of product for those occasions such as visiting Vegas where you want to be a bit more out there then normal.

I have gladly passed all my fancy hair colors to my friend. I don't really have the time to maintain these looks.

It looks cool but I guess that it is just for fancy hair days.

I love some wacky hair, I've had every colour under the sun over the years. But this, well, I'm just not sure I like it. At first glance on the homepage I thought she had super greasy hair, not an ideal look!

Definitely, something I would use, working in corporate restricts how "wild" you can go with your hair. Be interesting if this is something that could be wearable with your hair down without impacting the 'feel' of the hair too much.
